About
Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Graphics: 10 Story: 9 Gameplay: 9 Combat: 8 This is a great game, one that deserves to be discovered by more people. Its a great looking game, well optimised, interesting story and setting, a little hard at times with the no map or clear objective but that's also part of its charm. The combat is okay, different weapon types with different skills to attach and different drone abilities to aid you, but about half way you'll know what works for you and you've seen all the enemy types so it's not its strongest point, but its not bad, just 'okay'. I do hope for a sequel though. I'd like to see what happens next
Made me sympathize with a blonde curly haired sociopath. pretty cool

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Yeah I liked it and I enjoyed my time in this little world. The game is definitely worth the price even when it's not on sale. Combat is good but not very dynamic over time, it doesn't feel like it expands very much throughout the game. In general I had a good time, I don't think there's much re-playability for me here. I picked the weapons I liked and didn't really feel a good reason to play again or change it up. In general I am a fan and would play a sequel if they ever decided to build upon this. I'll definitely keep an eye out for whatever the studio does next.
Отсутствие карты отбивает всякое желание наматывать круги часами на одном и том же месте. Только по этой причине дропнул атмосферную игру.
hra vam nic neřekne, kam jit, co dělat nebo proč to delat, neni zde mapa a orientace probiha skrze bloudění a nachazeni utrzku ktere si musime sami spojovat a domyšlet dohromady
Not recommended. I've played games from the 80's on... even old King's Quest games. This game is well polished and doesn't try to hand hold, but they make one critical mistake: throwing various items across many areas without any kind of quest tracking. So you get to a point where you are just back tracking, which totally kills any feeling of progression. You hit a wall for a few hours looking for the one clue or item that will move you forward.. and for me this just took me to a place where I felt like the game was wasting my time... because the story just wasn't compelling enough to ask this of me. As for the soundtrack - great.. for the first two hours... after that it just becomes never changing annoying drone. This game needed another 6 months in development and some tuning... I wanted to like it... in the end it was just wasting my time. The worst thing a game can do.
Maybe Hell is our friends we made along the way (also the big fat man with a hat shouting "obviously you didn't die, start over") Haven't finished the game though, might do it some time later I really like the atmosphere, the background and the worldview of the game, puzzle solving is pretty interesting, and GOD, the music and sound effects are astonishing. The story is okay(better with the worldview and stuff), the combat is okay too (I would say less satisfying than a fight-focused game but this is a puzzle solving game so it suffices) But the downsides are also pretty significant to me, which also leads to me not playing for a while First is that I feel like the whole game is too static and repetitive. To me it's just collecting things and fighting the same enemies over and over again, and since there's not really much story/character development going on, all the things feel a little bland Second is that there's so many bugs! The most prominent bug I get is that you sometimes can't interact(speak, trade) with a NPC at all until you quit and join. This had an impact on me since it happens on a very important NPC and took me a while to realize. Other bugs include unable to select items to trade, not able to block/charge attacks in combat, and enemies behaving weirdly(flying, canceling attacks) In conclusion, this game has a very good base, their art/music is really good and the worldview is really interesting. However, if you're heavily dependent on playing by building momentum, or want games with less bug, then this game probably won't suit you.
If you love both Elden Ring and the classic Tomb Raider games, you can't miss Hell is Us. + Atmosphere + Lore + Sound design + Combat system + Level design + Art direction + Difficulty balance and personalisation options + Free roaming, no hand keeping - Story is hard to follow - Limited enemy types recurring over and over again - Characters lack depth - Dialogues aren't memorable - Side quests are useless - Ending is abrupt, unsatisfactory and doesn't really close much of the story Overall, the cons might be annoying but the pros still make this a GREAT game that definitely deserved more attention, talking, sales and love.
My wife and I played this together and hot-seated. We played on her account using family sharing, hence few hours in the game on this account. On her account we got 79 hours. We played two playthroughs back to back, to get everything right the second time. The combat system is fun and rewarding, but it's not the main reason to play the game in our opinion. There are plenty of good games out there with fun combat and good looking graphics. The real reason to play Hell Is Us is the world building. We've been playing games for decades and very few have ever come close to the amount of world building there is here. The details are stunning: the history of a small isolated country has been written in detail, weaving intricate stories that span centuries (even a few thousand years, but that's of course not as detailed). Every research item is detailed, but also the visual language used in different eras, murals, paintings, etc, things you cannot even interact with in game but can still look at form a cohesive and extremely detailed and fascinating whole. The main story itself was ok, but it was more a journey of discovering the land of Hadea. As the main character answers when asked why he came back: "I had questions." There are no side quests per say, but there are good deeds to accomplish. You have no map (compass available) and no one tells you: "I need this" or "Go do that". Listening to their stories and remembering them is your way forward. You can play Hell Is Us as a pure action game, souls-like and all that. But then you're missing 90% of the game. Brilliantly done, let's hope this studio keeps making such intelligent games in the future!
