If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.

About
Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.
As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.
No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.
Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
''The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.'' – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Reviews
Beautiful open level design. Reminiscent of older adventure games. Puzzles and combat are fun. Great game to play while on the toilet.
Interesting game, will be little annoying if you don't like to leave anything behind. You'll need to return to previous locations to gather something new. A lot of keys, treasures, and riddles to solve at every piece of map. Sometimes gave me a similar feeling as RE games.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

GOOD
Very interesting game. While it's combat and enemy variety isn't the greatest and can definitely get repetitive, it's story, world and objective and puzzle design is top tier. There's a sense of organic exploration that's highly encouraged by the fact that the game goes out of its way to not hold your hand. There's no minimap or objective markers, you have to piece your objectives and puzzle solutions together with the clues the game gives you which results in scenarios where you have to stretch your brain a bit. The way in which it presents its a world is a particularly large highlight as it blends the brutality of a civil war with supernatural elements and it really doesn't hold back with its depictions of hate, violence, fear and grief. This results in some fairly confronting scenarios and imagery that I think is rarely portrayed in games and it's done with a massive amount of confidence here.
Hell Is Us – A Refreshing Return to Environmental Storytelling I genuinely enjoyed Hell Is Us. It isn't perfect, but it reminded me of why I enjoy slower, atmospheric adventure games that trust the player to pay attention instead of constantly pointing at the next objective. The atmosphere is where the game truly shines. The music and ambient sound create a haunting sense of isolation that stays with you long after you leave an area. There were several locations that genuinely made me stop and look around—not because I was searching for loot, but because I wanted to understand what had happened there. One particular tower filled with bodies created the same kind of unsettling environmental storytelling that reminded me of From Software's worlds. Not because it copied Dark Souls or Elden Ring, but because it let the environment tell the story without immediately explaining everything. The world encourages observation. Rather than constantly relying on objective markers and lengthy exposition, it rewards paying attention to your surroundings and piecing things together yourself. That style of exploration worked very well for me. Combat also surprised me. I played on an easier difficulty, and it remained engaging without becoming frustrating. I died a handful of times, but never felt like the game was trying to punish me. I enjoyed experimenting with different weapons and the drone, although I found that several of the weapon abilities requiring charged attacks didn't naturally fit the otherwise fluid pace of combat, so I rarely used them. The game isn't without flaws. Some mechanics feel deeper than they need to be, and I largely ignored temporary combat buffs because I never really felt the need to use them. One thing worth knowing before you start is that the game does not support multiple save slots within a single playthrough. Your decisions are intended to be permanent, and while that reinforces the game's design philosophy, players who prefer keeping earlier saves to revisit important moments may find it limiting. The ending also follows the familiar "leave the door open for a sequel" approach. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it wrapped things up well enough that it didn't diminish everything that came before it. Overall, Hell Is Us succeeds because of its atmosphere, environmental storytelling, and willingness to let players discover the world for themselves. Those qualities made the experience memorable, and by the time I finished, I was genuinely glad I had taken the journey.
Very good atmosphere, pacing and storytelling, good art and level design, fine combat. Very excited for future content.
