About
Welcome to Parkitect, a modern take on a classic theme park tycoon where you build and manage the theme parks of your dreams. Construct your own coasters, design an efficiently operating park that fully immerses your guests in its theming and play through the campaign. Both the campaign and the sandbox mode can be played in single player mode or cooperatively by up to 8 players building together online!
Create the perfect park for your guests! Deform the terrain, place water, build structures!
With a huge selection of decorative objects from various themes you can design your park however you want. And for more you can get custom scenery from the Steam Workshop or mod in your own!
Top off that park with your very own roller coaster! Design it yourself or choose from a number of exciting designs. Spinning, looping, launching, flying - with over 70 of the worlds most popular types of theme park rides you'll always be able to surprise your guests.
Parkitect maps are huge, yet every tile matters. Adventure park or fantasy land? Why not both? The only limit is your imagination. From the smallest details such as placing each flower pot, to designing massive roller coasters, you decide the depth of your journey.
Building is only half of the challenge! You'll need to keep an eye on the finances and guest satisfaction to stay on top, and for the first time in a theme park game the "behind the scenes" parts of your park have a meaning too! Route resources to your various shops without annoying your guests and keep the staff areas out of the public eye for the perfect immersive experience.

Build your way through a challenging campaign! 26 scenarios with unique settings will put your theme park management and coaster designing skills to the test. And there's always more - download scenarios created by the community from Steam Workshop or design your own with the scenario editor. With the landscape generator you'll create your own unique setting in no time. And if you're more of a creative player there's the sandbox mode!

Reviews
If you like Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 this game is a worthy and welcome successor. This game maintains the simplicity of those older RCT games without over complicating the building process like some other theme park games have done. The additions this game brings to the community have also been quite fun. I would say there are little things for me that i wish this game included such as certain types of coasters and flat rides but i also haven't gone through all the mods yet to see if they exist. Really no major complaints just a good fun game that brings me the same magic and joy that I experienced playing games like this as a child.
This is a modern version of Rollercoaster Tycoon down to its roots. If you feel like modern park builders like Planet Zoo or Planet Coasters don’t do it for you then Parkitect is for you.
Every time I revisit this game in my library, I go from "Oh, so charming," to "Oh they let an engineer design this horrid UI or something." You really can't pick stuff up and move it around, you can only delete it and try to place it again. You will spend 20 minutes slapfighting with the placement tool trying to get a gate or something to face a certain way before deciding the whole affair is no longer worth your time or patience, whimsical music notwithstanding.
Scratches the urge for the fellow Rollercoaster Tycoon lovers out there. I like the added complexity of having employee paths and things out of sight for guests. Every other year or so, I enjoy hopping on this and binge-building an amusement park for a few days.
Let's be clear, in terms of value for money, this game absolutely destroys planet coaster. It does have less stuff overall, but it supports mods, and the park management side of things is arguably better. Very good game.
They have many addons and mods for the game. Every time an update made to the game has a serious chance, more likely than not, to corrupt, alter, or really screw up parks you spent hours building. The UI messes up in parks if you move something around the game does not like you will end up with options missing from the menus that can only be corrected by reinstalling the game.. Online advice often fails to fix issues as the game is tinkered with regularly. Sometimes they claim its some copyright issue with the rides, which I do not buy one bit. Its more of a coding issue where they do not take the time to ensure mods are sound in the updates. I want to ban the update feature but all attempts to do so have failed as steam ignores the options. If you want to build some really intense parks only to have items or rides you spent hours constructing or the park UI failing... then this game is for you.
This is more of a meh review. Finished the game in 32 hours. Have to say its very disappointing. Its not even a challenging 32 hours. The dev obvious put a lot of effort into the game. And I LOVE the art style. Its just that the game is too simple in terms of management. No undo button / function is a HUGE flaw for this type of game.
I like that I can focus on building a park without having to put together big coasters. I know a lot of people love doing that, but I'm not one lol
I recently picked up the game and have been playing with friends. Multiplayer adds an element to tycoon games that I never knew I was missing. We've just about played through all of the scenarios and had a blast doing them. I do have some minor complaints related to desyncing issues, visual bugs, and limited variety between scenarios, but those issues never disrupted the experience enough to deter me from the game. I'll probably keep building off an on for a long time to come. <3
