For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is an excellent blend of action, puzzle and story. The combat is fairly basic but still fun. The puzzles range from challenging to easy a lot of it just requires remembering who npcs are and where they are. If you take the time to read the many lore descriptions in the game it tells an excellent story of a fictional country with rich history and how simple divides can lead to massive implications in the future which I found to be very profound. TL;DR well worth your time and very fun to play
immersive Welt, guter Soundtrack - schoen dystopisch. Keine Questmarker, man muss mitdenken, selbst Notizen machen, keine interaktive Karte.
Hell is Us is a game with a unique concept, which was only half executed in a way that makes it just a decent game. The game is a solid 7/10, and a decent playthrough, but seriously lacking in what makes a game truly good. I'll be breaking down my review into 4 sections: Combat, Story, Variety, and Ambience.
The Combat
The combat in this game is interesting at first, but quickly falls off when you realize there are only 4 types of weapons. To be fair, each weapon has a different "path" which allows you to have some slight build variation, but it ultimately isn't very deep. Upgrades are locked behind core story checkpoints, but sometimes from sidequests only, which is somewhat unusual for a game that can punish you for failing sidequest missions. The combat is - technically speaking - pretty smooth. I find that dodges are responsive, and parrying is insanely forgiving, which can be nice to not feel too difficult. My major issue with combat is that there are a total of 4 different enemies, with effectively the same moveset across the board. You get a single 1112 style swing with each of your weapons, and that never changes unless you use special moves. This results in the combat feeling very "same-y" after about 5 hours of gameplay. The combat is medium paced, in a way that Elden Ring combat or Dark Souls 3 combat can feel. The game is very forgiving if you have patience and try different fighting styles. Unfortunately the number of options is pretty limited, and you either bonk with a big sword, or rapidly bonk with a little one (or two). Overall, I'd give the combat a 6/10. It's not horrific, but severely lacking in uniqueness and variability.
The Variety
This brings me to my next point, which is the variety - and unfortunately this game's biggest and noticeable weakness. Every part of the story is more or less the same formula copy pasted over and over, as are the enemies. 1) Learn about a somewhat generic problem 2) Kill a bunch of the same four enemies 3) Solve a number of puzzles in between 4) Find the objective 5) Queue a cutscene pidgeon holing you into the next objective. Many of the puzzles are identical to each other, the only thing that differentiates them is how you get the clues for them. After a while though, it becomes more frustrating to find the clues than to just solve the puzzle. This is purely subjective, but I prefer my puzzles to have thought behind the solve, not just barriers. The scenery and environment, which falls a little under ambience, is the one portion of this game I quite enjoyed. The houses each feel unique, even when made with the same assets, and the people do not generally look like copies of each other, even when they sometimes look similar. Each of the zones is another nervous breakdown, something that makes the game feel a bit more like a horror game than a souls-like. The art and concept design for the core "heroes" in the story is well executed, and their locations are all interesting. Overall, I feel variety deserves a 4/10. It would have a much lower score, but the world itself did feel varied, and lived in. Unfortunately, any other content contained within it felt repeated and bland.
The Story
The story of this game isn't a homerun, but it is interesting, pretty well written, and draws a lot of political parallels with real life. The main character is a supposed "sociopath" and has the monotone voice to boot. His interactions with characters are enough to propel the story forwards, but not enough to actually give him an interesting personality. The characters in the story are well written, generally speaking. They have micro expressions, if somewhat lackluster, good voice acting, and solid insights on the game world that make you feel like you're talking to someone with a little depth to them. They don't really have any true level of interaction with the main character outside of serving as a source of information. You don't fight with them, contradict them, or have any real options to change how your dialogue interacts with them, save for a few side quests. The side quests are sometimes very good. Certain quests tugged on my heartstrings, or made me really stop and think "Damn. That's horrible." The world feels lived in because of this, especially because it's supposed to be in the middle of a wartorn country. Not all of the sidequests however, are interesting, and honestly some of them shouldn't even be sidequests at all because of how short they are. The overall story definitely deserves an 8/10, especially when not really including the main character in it. The story is engaging, the mystery is well laid out, and the world is experienced in a way that feels very immersive. The story itself is a little predictable towards the end, and ends a little abruptly in my opinion, but overall was very enjoyable.
The Ambience
The ambience of Hell is Us, similar to the story, is one of the better parts of the game without a doubt. From the very beginning, you are bombarded with eerie music, depressing scenes, and dim lighting. For my first few hours playing, I was constantly getting anxious when exploring small hallways, rounding corners, or even just crossing open fields. The game does an excellent job at its "horror" elements, and towards the end of the game, takes on a more tangible horror -
that of the gritty details that go into a genocide.
The music is mostly atmospheric, and unfortunately not interesting to listen to by itself, and at times, outright unnerving. It does a very good job setting the ambience, but unfortunately is not good music as a result. The noises and sound effects are excellent, and the parries or sword strikes are very satisfying. The lighting is generally well done, especially at certain points throughout the game, and each area gives different interactions with light in a pretty unique way. Each area is well designed in a way that makes it feel more realistic and matches the world. Overall, I give the ambience an 8.5/10.
Some additional thoughts and a quick summary
The last thing I wanted to touch on is something that most people on the reviews complain about: the puzzles. I felt that overall the puzzles were pretty solvable. The lack of UI really did make for an interesting game, but sometimes it also meant the intended puzzle mechanics were extremely ambiguous. Combined with the occasional lever/switch/door bugs and it could sometimes make the puzzles extremely frustrating to work through. Because of this, the puzzles, if better executed, would in my opinion, be something that makes this game truly unique and fun. I think perhaps making more of the elements interactable would really solve this issue. Overall I think this game does a lot of things well, but an equal amount of them not so much. I think it is a solid game worth a play, but probably one that is played after purchasing on sale, or if you are really craving a world driven horror souls-like but have already played all of the actual souls games. I tentatively recommend this game.

**Hell is Us** — это мрачный приключенческий экшен от студии Rogue Factor и издателя Nacon, вышедший 4 сентября 2025 года.
Reluctant recommendation because I did have fun in spite of some of the flaws that people may or may not be bothered by. Loved, LOVED the world and the look of this game. I cannot stress this enough because the list will read quite negatively, but this is a really interesting game that suffers from some flaws. Pros: - Super interesting, unusual world-building, would definetely want to learn more about the world! - Incredible graphics. (I'm a sucker for monumental landscapes and buildings, and this world has those in abundance) - Difficulty was fine (more on that in the "notes" column though) - Really good writing for bioth the main story and the side-stories (mysteries and good deeds). - The puzzles are challenging but not unfair (you just have to pay pretty close attention). Cons: - Combat felt really weird in the beginning, took me a while to get used to. Especially in some of the later fights it felt I was mostly battling the camera. - The drone light: Look, I know that "someone lit all the torches in the dungeon" is a stupid trope but it exists for a reason. Running around compleley dark dungeons only lit by my shaky drone felt really strenuous to my eyes to the point where I just wanted to get it over with. I do get how this is immersive, but I struggled to explore. - No "point of no return" warning. Suddenly the game was just... over? Notes: - The game needs a stronger content warning, so there:
dead babies/crying babies
. If that's a thing for you, you really want to stay away or use a guide for some of the quests. - By the same token: Timed or failable quests are really not my thing without some kind of hint that that might be the case in this game. Which it is. - If you're expecting souls-like bosses: there are none. There are 3 fights that vary from the usual mobs but that's it. I could also have done without those 3 fights, one of which was completely trivialized by my build. (Fine by me, I'm lazy!) - I loved the "investigation" system but would have loved it more if it were extended to the mysteries. Or maybe keep some kind of log of what I've encountered. I had to pause for a week and when I got back into the game I couldn't remember half of what I had previously uncovered. - My time is valuable. Please don't make me redo all the maps because I missed an item somewhere with no clue as to where it might be. That's just mean. (I didn't mind the lack of a map so much though, the areas are relatively small, anyway.) - Not the biggest fan of the "I'm this one man army but I get stymied by a body of water or a 2 ft high wall" thing, aka no jumping and instant death by falling into water. There must be some other solution for this instead of reloading and making me walk across the entire map . - Speaking of time: The region map in the APC is divided into zones so why can't I travel directly there? All in all I had a good time and I'm hoping for a DLC or a sequel!
