While I do feel like there is soul in this game it doesn't mean that it's a good game, combat feels rather slugish and unimpactfull while the game ran buttery smooth it wasnt that much of a looker there were so many npc's but not a single one really felt special unlike in dark souls where all the npc's felt special
its a grait fierst vr game
near unplayable frequent frame drops absolutely nothing is explained movement and arms are jank not a fan of how health pots work inventory system basically doesn't exist if there was a proper tutorial then i would probably give this a proper try but i really feel like this isn't worth my time honestly
Game does has its nuances but overall a very unique souls like experience that i enjoy. I believe there should be a better pouch system implemented but the sword play and the bow are both very enjoyable to use!
Almost a good game! GOOD: - Plot + characters + boss ripped straight from dark souls, no complaints there (questionable copyright infringement honestly, but not my problem) - Campaign is good but linear, the campaign enemies are well placed and fun to fight - Weapon customization is done by mixing and matching different handles, guards, blades, etc, cool and unique concept BAD: - Bosses are literally made of sponge material and you will get tennis elbow trying to beat them off for 10+ minutes. It is comical how little damage you do to them. Not super difficult but a weird departure from the other enemies. HORRIBLE: - Weapon level upgrades are granted through the arena, a totally standalone area that combines all of the worst parts of the game at once. In order to get your sword from base level to +1, +5, etc, you have to deal with constant spawns of the cheesiest enemies known to man, half of which are ranged and spawn on towers only accessible by LADDER. The entire enjoyable, slow, tactical combat found in the campaign that rewards you for gitting gud is thrown out of the window here. Completely unfun. Not technically necessary to beat the game but helps with the otherwise ridiculous boss sponginess. Devs need to completely rework this significant portion of the game, as it stands this 1/4 of the game is unplayable.
This game really puts itself above other games because of two reasons. The first is that it just plays like a linear dark souls game, and all the bosses, secret treasure, upgrades, and similar things you would expect. This makes for a much more satisfying experience instead of the infinite amount of sandbox VR games available. The second (and most major) one, is the combat system. While normal games force you just hit away at an enemy health bar, this game rewards precision and elegance more than raw strength and stats. Most enemies in this game are armoured, and have a few weak spots. Enemies fight differently too. This means that in order to defeat a heavily armoured knight, you'll spend your time parrying them in such a way, you might just stun them back long enough to stab an instakill in their exposed neck underneath their helmet. It's incredibly rewarding to do and really makes you feel skilled in actual swordfighting. Almost all enemies have an instant kill weakness somewhere on them. My only gripe in this game are the bosses. The developers seem to almost completely abandon this design principle when designing bosses, which instead just comes down to hitting them 2-3 times, dodging, and doing it again for about 40-50 times. Might be fun on the couch with a controller, not fun at all in VR unfortunately.
Cool!
Game is clunky, spear is impossible to use, the parry window is too small, enemies kill in two hits even in heavy armor, not fun. Requested refund
