THE best tomb raider game of all time!! The story was immaculate, there's decently easy puzzles but also alot of action and fun missions! Lara in this game is just so cool and the ending was actually kind of sad but its honestly a 10/10 i love it so much. would defo recommend!!!
Tomb Raider: Legend is the first of the PS3 trilogy, has some charm and still holds up quite well in terms of overall gameplay. I've also always seen Uncharted as Sony's boring answer to Tomb Raider, seeing as how it is the same thing, but with a male protagonist, no movement tech, no mysticism and no gadgets except sometimes a flashlight and grenades. Pros: + Decent story, albeit with some unexplained events + Physics are surprisingly decent + Good movement tech and gameplay mechanics for its time + Great level design and puzzles + Various different gameplay sequences + Decent amount of settings for visuals and controls + Has attention to detail + Includes extra content, such as time trials, and ability to visit Croft Manor + Not too long, not too short and not too many puzzles, with good pacing in between them Cons: - Crashes a lot, even on high-end hardware - Steam overlay not supported - Checkpoints will overwrite if you decide to do some backtracking - Combat is clunky - Headshots don't matter - Questionable voice acting - Lacks camera options - Poor audio mixing - Swimming to the surface is bugged as the game doesn't always recognize she has reached the surface - Not all cutscenes you've already watched are skippable - Very little display of emotion from the young versions of Lara - Tutorials ignore controllers - Framerate will slow down at times - Widescreen option turns itself off sometimes - There's a bug that does not allow you to wear unlocked outfits in new missions - Very low rewards for collecting all collectables in Croft Manor - You have to hear Lara's friends whine, worry and complain in your earpiece all throughout the game - Bosses repeat the same voice lines over and over during fights - No PlayStation controller glyphs in menus Mixed: ~ Some visuals aged well, some did not ~ Has QTEs In conclusion, Tomb Raider: Legend is still a fun game for me for maybe a single playthrough, but quite buggy and dated. It is best played with controller, unlike the newer trilogy. Obviously, the cons far outweigh the pros, and I cannot recommend it in this state. Overall Rating: 2 out of 5
Beginning of reboot trilogy after Tomb Raider I-VI. This TR have more action and puzzle elements are a bit hindered. Story as always interesting and hold you until finale. Gameplay is decent and involve plenty of platforming. To be honest Legend is one of the weakest entry in the series. But even the game is from 2006 it's worth checking. Need remaster.
87% completion at medium difficulty. Good game. Fully enjoyed.
I played this game on the PSP back when it first came out, and I remember really liking it. Replaying it now, I find some things, like the combat, way too simplified, but overall the game is still great, and I’m honestly surprised by how many aspects of it I still remember. The puzzles are interesting, and you really have to think about how to reach the places you need to get to. There are no yellow or white markings that instantly tell you where to go. The locations themselves are interesting and look good for a game of that era, even if you’re not playing the next‑gen version (which is still pretty buggy anyway). The wide variety of levels also helps keep the gameplay feeling fresh. What surprised me even more is that the game actually has a pretty solid soundtrack. And if the main game isn’t enough, you can always return to Croft Manor at any time to hunt down all its secrets. Playing it on the Steam Deck, I didn’t run into any issues at all. The only downside is that the game shows keyboard prompts instead of controller buttons.
[b]6.5/10[\b]
