Grim Tales: Bloody Mary Collector's Edition

It's a good HOG =) I like the creepy story and beautiful scenes. Some puzzles are annoying, but all are doable^^

Your family just cannot keep out of supernatural trouble. This time, it is your niece who needs your help. Seems that all the teachers at her boarding school have vanished and the other children are acting very strange. Seems the former mansion might be haunted… Plot is entertaining, HO scenes fun, and the minigames challenging. Probably should purchase in the bundle. (When they add it to the bundle…)

Frequent jumpscares are annoying, lack of map fast travel even moreso. Fine enough otherwise.

Definitely better-than-average for the genre. It's standard format and game play, but well done.

Diesen Teil der Grim Serie empfand ich als sehr langweilig. Die Rätsel sind kaum des Nachdenkens wert, im Grunde bestehen sie zu 90% aus probieren - neuer Zug - nochmal probieren - neuer Zug - Ende. Es gab keinen Moment an dem ich mich gefordert gefühlt habe. Die Wimmelbilder kamen mir ebenfalls sehr spärlich vor. Nach 3 Stunden war ich fertig. Sehr schade, da ich die Grim Tales Reihe sehr gerne mag! Aber es gibt spannendere Teile als diesen. Ich würde empfehlen mit dem ersten Teil anzufangen. Die neusten sind auch ok. Diesen kann man getrost auslassen.

It was fine. Still not directly with the overall lore that we started with and we get later with the family. Liked some of these puzzles and we can now lock the inventory, always a plus.

I remember playing this on my grandma's tablet as a kid. It really stuck with me, it was fun to play it again. I can't really tell if it's changed at all, but it's still pretty fun.

[h1] Grim Tales 5: Bloody Mary [/h1] Is one fantastic creepy Hidden Object Game! [b][u] Gameplay [/u] [/b] I have seen a huge improvement in the designs and story telling but the game definitely still need more improvement in setting mini-games and story flow. There was a lot of going back and forth that is quite dizzying. The developers probably made it this way to let the player use the map a lot of times but there was so much repetitive steps of moving form one place to another that it was dizzying. The difficulty of the mini-games vary drastically there were some easy games and there were some difficult games. There was one particular mini-game that I hated ー the board game where you have to fill the slot with good boys than bad boys. Thank god, there was a skip button to stop me from hating the game. There were some moments where the game feels like a thriller because there are scenes that scares you and keep you on the edge at all times. Compare to the Hitchhiker game that I played before this one is pretty mild that I still want to play it again where the Hitchhiker was a non-repeat kind of game for me. Thank you for the developer for CREATING a MAP that can let you travel from one place to another and for adding a DIARY (JOURNAL). There were also some added features that I didn't saw in the previous games of this series. The [i]Collectibles, Hall of Memories, and Achievements[/i]. [b][u] Graphic [/u] [/b] [b] LOVE IT! [/b] I have no complaints with the design and concept art. From the intro to the menu screen all the arts in this game where both creepy and beautiful at the same time. Especially Mary's design! The color palette that was used to make this was pretty. The transition of the color of Mary and her husband's clothes when they were alive and in their afterlife reunion was fantastic (from Black to White theme). [b][u] STORY [/u] [/b] MAIN STORY Anna (the player) gets a call from her niece, Jackie, begging Anna to pick her up. The teachers are missing, her friends are acting weird, and something is haunting her boarding school. Anna is on the way to save her niece. From the moment Anna arrived she felt the spooky aura surrounding the place. From the very beginning you see a silhouette of child cutting of the head of a rabbit toy. When she tried to enter she was almost killed by a student behind her back. There were a lot of things that came flying at Annaーlike an axe being thrown at her, a chandelier almost fell on her. There were some questionable dialogues and scenes but this did not put me off from loving the game. Okay maybe there were a lot of scenes that lacks common sense like for example Anna going into the mirror world alone without a care for her niece when they were cornered by the boys that were possessed. Disregarding the fact that Anna went to the mansion just to save her niece, Jackie. There was danger so no sane adult would probably leave a child on their own without worrying what might happen. The kids not showing up after saving them without giving any instruction to them is weird. Anna not giving an afterthought for the children and telling them what they should do bothered me. The thing that I am most bothered about was "Why Anna never bothered to call the police especially if there was murder involved OR why any of the adults never bothered calling the authority or anyone for help when the setting is set in the age where people can ask for help just by calling someone." The whole situation just lack explanation to some things. BONUS CONTENT The bonus started right off after sending the children away and meeting Mary's ghost that have changed in appearance. Mary explain that her soul was corrupted by an evil curse but is now free thanks to Anna. However, she's doomed to wander the mansion, restless until she can find peace. Mary asks Anna to help her break the curse so that her spirit can be reunited with her husband. Anna agrees; she goes back inside while Mary transforms the mansion back to the way it was, to help with Anna's investigation. The bonus content gave further explanation on why Mary turned evil. The collectibles and hall of memories also gave further depth to the whole Bloody Mary lore. But, the hall of memories is a game that made the players play the same kind of mini-games again with the same content which is repetitive thank goodness there was a skip button so you can just skip them. I see improvements in the recent game and really do like this game and would recommend the game to people who likes playing Hidden Object Games. BUT! I might not recommend it to players who enjoy the same genre and enjoy playing a game with more in depth plot. Because Grim Tales series as a whole from what I have played from 1 to 5 is quite all over the place. You can say that it is about Anna helping her family from supernatural problems. I have seen in wiki that Anna's job is a private detective and was surprise because this was never showcased in the games I have played from 1 to 5. I just hope the developers will make sense to this series as a whole.
