This is the most logical hidden object game I've played, for example, you wouldn't find a lemon inside a purse! The story starts off by telling us a story happened centuries ago when a demon showed up and Druids who has the power of Avalon struggled against him and many died in that battle. The Archdruid had no option other than using a dark spell to lock the demon in a cavern. A prophecy appeared, telling them when the demon will show up again. The game starts off with the main character, an archaeologist who received letters from a man asking her to check the standing stones of the Druids. Unknown to our young lady that the prophecy will be fulfilled this night and in seven hours! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1364413743 I enjoyed the story and artwork, the hidden objects scenes are well drawn as well as the puzzles. However, I did experience two game crashes and it is probably from my end after I solved two very difficult mini-games and had to replay them again. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1364491663 Music is very relaxing and nice but what made this game a hardcore is the collectibles. You have to find a total of 70 Mistletoe and some of them INSIDE a hidden object scene, which means you can't get them if you miss them, this is very stressing for people who want a 100% completion of the game. The other thing I disliked is the lack of directions, the game provided a good looking huge map which allows you to fast travel between the location, except that if its in another area, for example, an island, you can fast travel to the location where you can use the boat to reveal the island map. There is a total of three maps and 38 locations. I was hoping for a journal to guide me through the game but there is only a 'clues' tab where you can only view the piece of papers you find around the game. The lack of directions on the map and the lack of journal forced me to use a guide to know where to go next. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1365015420 Pros: +Fitting soundtracks. +Beautiful artwork and well-made locations. +Good story. +Good voice overs. +Fast travel map. +Well made hidden object scenes. +Variety of puzzles. +Good game length. +Collectibles. (Some of them can be found in hidden objects scenes) +Steam achievements. Cons: -Bad character design and animation. (Main character looks like an exact copy of Sherry Birkin) -No journal, game lacks directions and there is nowhere to know what is the next objective. I do recommend giving this game a try, the visuals and story are good, and if you are after 100% achievements then good luck with it! it is not impossible and there is a good guide on steam for the collectibles. Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy (IHOG/FROG) Options include separate sliders for Music and Sound, and three Difficulties to choose from - Casual, Advanced or Expert. For those who don't know, a 'FROG' is a FRagmented Object Game. Graphics: The artwork in the game is beautiful, and I love that it's not the same exact color palette all the way through. That is the key to the success of this game, I think - the amazing variety the devs gave us, but without anything ever seeming out-of-place within the world they've created. In addition to having lovely graphics, the scenes all have an interesting perspective to them. The usage of different angles really added interest, and kept things from feeling bland. The character designs were a bit odd-looking at times, but that's insignificant compared to the rest of the game. Hidden Objects: There is nothing "standard" about the hidden objects, as even the find-by-list scenes are highly-interactive. In addition, we will be tasked with finding items by silhouette (finding an item will help you find another item, and so forth), Fragmented objects (find all of the pieces, and end up with a useable item - purple items are either in a zoom-in or you have to complete a task before you can find them). HINTS are refillable, and do not discharge when used to figure out which direction to go. Other Gameplay: There are a lot of locations spread across several maps, and there will be a fair amount of backtracking, but the flow of the game is so good that it never felt annoying or repetitive. The adventure, puzzles and variety of hidden object scene-types kept the game feeling fresh and fun throughout! The puzzles were all do-able for me, but none were insultingly-easy. It took me quite a while to finish a few of them! While we do have a place to track clues, there is no actual journal like most of these games have. We also have an insta-transport map (does not show active areas - you'll have to figure that out for yourselves!) The story is nothing groundbreaking, but I enjoyed it nonetheless... Especially when it didn't end where and how I thought it would! Collectibles:

40 mosaic pieces, which you'll usually find on zoom-in scenes during the adventure portion of the game
70 mistletoe sprigs, which can be found anywhere and everywhere, including the hidden object scenes! In addition to being an added challenge, these sprigs will also refill your hint-meter if it's low. There can be up to three sprigs on a scene, so look carefully!
There are 19 Achievements to be had (both in-game and on Steam). Although some are acquired via regular gameplay, you're going to have to work for the others! This game is of the highest quality, from the sights and sounds to an interesting story line to fun gameplay. Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy is absolutely one of the best-of-the-best in IHOG-adventures. HIGHLY recommended!
Graven The Purple Moon Prophecy
Adventures of 2016. An invitation to explore ancient standing stones takes you to Brittany to find these magnificent standing stones... But it quickly becomes apparent that there is far more at stake than groundbreaking research. ...there is a prophecy... (developer) Your task is to uncover the secrets that lie hidden in a sleepy town in Brittany, France. There is an ancient Druidic prophecy that you will learn about. Now your search begins. Where is what? How do I find what I'm looking for? Does it go somewhere? If so, how? As you can see, it's a search game with hidden objects and some mini-games are also included. Help is available and you can keep clicking if you get stuck on a puzzle. Your tasks are mostly easy to manage and help is rarely needed. Focus is on the search of course and this is in the area which was made very atmospheric, well implemented. The fun factor is high, the frustration factor is low and the story behind it is surprisingly good. In my opinion, everything was done correctly here, therefore, Recommended. Nun geht deine Suche Los.
Achievements
Es gibt insgesamt 19 Erfolge. Hierfür muss man das Spiel komplett beenden, alle 70 Mistelzweige finden, 3 Gegenstände in einer Wimmelbildszene schnell hintereinander finden, 3 Wimmelbilder ohne Tipps abschliessen und 20 von 40 Mosaic Teile selber finden
Pro/Contra
+ Story OK + Musik OK + Sound OK + Voice Acting völlig OK + Nette Wimmelbildszenen + Rätsel sind ganz Ordentlich + Achievements
Fazit

Follow Main group
Follow Second group

Short version: 62%
Graven is hardly a great hidden object game, but to its credit, it is trying. It has almost as many great elements as bad ones in terms of storytelling, hidden object scenes, and locations, sitting in a range where no matter if you buy or skip it, you make an equally clever decision.
Long version:
Graven: The Purple Moon Legacy feels a lot more than a simple cash-in hidden object game, even if it uses too many of the familiar building blocks. For example, the plot never leaves us alone for long, but the story about guiding our protagonist on her quest to become a druidess so she can stop a renegade spellcaster before he helps an ancient demon to escape its prison is simply not interesting or original enough to make us care much about it. This dubiousness is also present in gameplay. We have a plethora of mediocre hidden object scenes with large variety. The puzzles are enjoyably average but take uncomfortably long. The classic adventure game bits are pleasantly easy to figure out; however, since we lack task indicators on the gigantic map, backtracking is a serious time-waster, despite the straightforward progression.
Game Information "Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy" is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game. The game was developed by Orchid Games and published by IQ Publishing. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention the visuals in the game nicely. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's menu option. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are three different difficulty game modes to choose from: Casual; Advanced and Expert. The notebook keeps tracks of progression in the game. Such as story events and clues. There is an interactive map in the game. It allows the player to fast travel between each location quickly without having the need to constantly backtrack. It also indicates that there are a variety of tasks that can be completed at various locations within the game. The interactive map is automatically given at the start of the game. There is no padlock feature available to lock the inventory panel in place. The inventory panel is stationary. There are some interactive items in the game. Some of the interactive items may require extra components before they can be interacted with. The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Traditional word lists; Fragmented items and Shadow items. Some of these hidden object scenes may require little or no interaction. The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them. There is a collectible item in the game: Mistletoe Twig. They are scattered throughout the game for the player to find. There are nineteen different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked. Miscellaneous Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not the game's full price value.
Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy is a hidden object game I very much enjoyed. There is a minimum of issues and the story is interesting (For a HoG at least 😊). The game is pretty long. I did end up using a guide for much of it but it still took me over 5 hrs. The artwork is really good. Music is good. Animation is so-so, but if you’re used to HoG’s it’s passable. The voice acting was pretty decent. Overall, a pretty top-notch HoG. The only real negative thing I can think of is at one point you’re looking for a “Church Key.” You also have an obvious lock around a chain to unlock. Turns out the “church key” is really a can opener. It even looks like a can opener, although it is labeled as Church key. It also does not open the lock, but it is the key to moving forward. I won’t give the rest away. I don’t know if this was a translation issue, or if they really think church keys look like can openers…. But it stumped me long enough it was frustrating. I’d definitely recommend this one. It’s even one of the cheaper HoG’s I’ve run across. Certainly worth the price. + Graphics/art + Music + All achievements work properly and only one playthrough is needed to obtain them + Nice length – even with a guide for much of it, it took several hours. +/- Possibly a bit too much running back and forth between scenes. Had I not been using a guide, I’d have found that quite frustrating. - Nothing of note aside from the “church key” can opener.
While not as good as Orchid's HOG follow-up Modern Tales, this is a pretty good entry in the genre. You're basically doing the usual stuff (being an archeologist, a herborist and a puzzle solver at the same time, or something?), fighting a one-dimensional bad guy (here obviously modeled after Javier Bardem), in the usual places, in this case an imaginary village in Bretagne where nobody speaks with a French accent, "attention" is spelled "attentione" but only in cut scenes for some reason, and nobody but druids live around here. Okay, fine. There's also a slight cliffhanger at the end of the game. There aren't any bonus chapters, and no sequels, so I guess you can just dismiss it as a joke. Oh, I will advise you to you a Steam guide if you want 100% of the achievements, because some of the collectables are highly missable. Thankfully, what the guides don't tell you is that if you miss one of them in a hidden object scene, you should be able to recover it the second time you get the scene. That was the case for me. As for mosaic pieces, don't worry about them. I had 31 out of 40 and didn't really go out of my way to find them, because at some point a guy shows up and gives you the rest, as well as the mosaic-related achievement. Meh. At least get 20 of them, so that you can feel like you deserved the one you get when you're halfway through it.
This is sort of a C-. Possiblities, but missing too much. Feels a bit as is the developers liked the idea, but never played the popular ones to get an idea of what players expect. Pros: Screens are nice Voice acting is good Story is good Music is suitable Meh: The Hidden Objects screens are OK in and of themselves, but no more than that. Not too many puzzles Cons (and some of these are very big): Map is totally useless. It only tells you where you are. Nothing on the map that lets you know about where you need to go Nothing on the map that tells you about a necessary HOP in a different location from where you are NO quick travel Often you have to move through 5+ screens to get to the one you need next. Frustrating & boring Glad I got this on sale and didn't waste more.
