Gameplay is still fun, but i would expect more new bosses for 30€. Am at the End of Chaos++ and i think i faced 3? new encounters?
It’s still a heavy grind and relies heavily on recycled monster designs, but it’s fun, and cross-play has breathed new life into the multiplayer. Most of all, I’m really glad Excalion doesn’t show up as an enemy. There is genuinely no substitute for this among multiplayer RPGs on Steam.
I’m trying to be objective, but for that price... simply re-use and repainting old bosses boos their HP and go, go farm new buld. I was expecting more new enemies. Overall, I’d recommend it if it’s with 40% off, but at full price certainly not.
If you liked the end-game grind, it's more of that and you'll enjoy it. If you didn't, there's not much else here.
2 good bosses, 1 cinematic final boss that was just okay, and 15 hours of disgraceful slop full of reused bosses with inflated health bars.
I really wish I could give this game a thumbs up but after finishing all the new content I just can't. The new things they added are honestly really cool, I don't have any problems with that, but I have a problem with just how little they added. Most of the content is just re-used enemies from the base game, which I personally wouldn't have too much of a problem with if they didn't just make them so much more annoying to fight. Screw adding new fight mechanics to spice up old encounters, just make them have more health and do more damage. Also make them spew debuff juice all over the arena and run away so you have to run through it. I feel like they had to have payed someone to take old fights and turn them into the most annoying and terrible fights in any ARPG so their new fights would feel that much better. The fact that you gotta grind these missions and play them dozens of times a piece really makes it feel like ♥♥♥♥. If you are just gonna run through the DLC with buddies and then drop it, it's not bad, but if you plan on actually maxing out characters for the raids, this is some hot ass.
Did you like the gameplay in the main game? This DLC is basically an extension of that; the story is practically nonexistent; actually, there is a story, but it’s presented very briefly and with a production value similar to the “Fate” episodes in the base game. There are new bosses, but very few; most of the time, you’ll be fighting (over and over and over) harder versions of the old bosses. The time required to farm masteries and materials is incredibly long; the new roguelike mode is cool and speeds up material collection a bit (unfortunately, it doesn’t give any EXP—WTF?), but there aren’t many different “rooms,” and, once again, it ends up becoming tedious; in terms of character building, we’re still stuck equipping our characters with damage-cap runes, and not even the new master trait system changes that, though it can offer some variations to the characters’ playstyles; by the way, the new characters are cool, but getting them to the endgame is such a hassle that I gave up on playing them. To give you an idea of how long the grinding takes: when I started the DLC, I had 35 hours of playtime on my save file and had completed one-third of the missions on “Proud” difficulty. To start the DLC, you have to finish all of them, and at that point, I only had access to the first three levels of the roguelike to speed up the process. It took me between 15 and 20 hours to actually start the DLC, and I can assure you that this kind of repetition is common throughout the entire DLC, Then you'll face the later bosses, and even if your characters have the power of the recommended level (or higher), the fights will be an eternity because the bosses have an absurd amount of health. I just can't understand why a single-player PVE game has to be this repetitive; this is a level of boredom you'd expect from a multiplayer game, and it's a shame, because the gameplay is good, but it can't withstand that much repetition.
It's peak
