Very basic and very boring.
When you start the game, you quickly realize why the Swedish forces lost to such a pathetic robotic enemy. As soon as you reach the Swedish army, it becomes obvious: they lost because they didn’t bring weapons to the fight. Their tanks do not even have a turrets, so they can’t aim at anything. No wonder they were wiped out. If they had spent less time building identical, useless bunkers with no guns and more time building actual tanks, maybe they would’ve stood a chance. Meanwhile, you begin the game taking on multiple robots with a rusty handgun and somehow win with relative ease. Then you meet the only female character in the game — and she’s neither memorable nor useful. After a couple of hours, you’ll forget she ever existed. Later, you run into a Swedish soldier who is, unsurprisingly, also useless. He’s supposedly part of the military, yet he basically tells you, the untrained guy with a rusty pistol, to go be the hero and save the entire country because you’re apparently more effective than their whole army. Forty hours in, I find myself wanting to uninstall the game because it feels like Fallout 4 in all the wrong ways. You’re constantly overloaded, forced to crawl across the map, and when you finally reach a base, you can’t use half the stuff you collected because there are no shops to sell junk or buy anything useful. Upgrades and mechanics feel like a frustrating joke — as if someone from Microsoft worked on this game. Weapons are underwhelming across the entire game. The story? What story? Who’s fighting who? No clue. I’ll give them credit for adding Russian robots — until they showed up, the game was genuinely borring. With them, it’s slightly better, but still meaningless and unsatisfying.
interesting concept, turns out to be a walking simulator with looting and occasional shooting though
I enjoy killing the Clanker Menace,
Your character - supposedly a cool teenager - can't run for more than 20 meters without risking a heart attack. You're infinitely overencumbered. Bikes and bicycles are absolutely terrible, you'd better just run through the map. Levelling up, unlocking blueprints and all the crafting takes incredibly long time. I'm at the 12h mark and have basically nothing available to craft apart from the things from first tutorial mission. And I'm running with 2nd level weapons at most, with scratched scopes etc. it's really not satisfying at all. There are too many systems slapped together, multiple unlock trees etc and they are mostly tedious to progress. Like - after 12h I was able make one jacket, even though the sewing amchines are everywhere, but there's just nothing available to craft, wtf is this, how much more grind do I need for these things to start being useful? There's a lot of small bugs like various notifications popping up couple of minutes after the thing they notify about happened, you might also get stuck in geometry, sometimes the robots will manage to shoot you through the rocks etc But I think the most important issue is just how repetitive the game is and how sluggish is the character progress. Like - I'm not spending additional 40-60 hours to get to the end when I have a strong feeling it's only more of the same. It feels like a game that was supposed to be a live service multiplayer one but was hastily converted into single player/coop with some dlcs slapped on top which feel like they should be in base game (like the additional weapons dlcs). I didn't have any performance nor stability issues though. Just got bored.
UPDATE I HAVE IDEAS FOR THE GAME PLS RESPOND PLS
Mile wide and a foot deep.
This game is quite good and fun. It's an open world, free roam, looter shooter. The combat is engaging and will automatically scale it's own difficulty by adjusting the class and quantity of robots it'll send your way. You'll never run out of ammo since ammo looting is tailored to your loadout. While the DLC packs aren't necessary, they provide a huge quality of life improvement. I suggest both Soviet Weapons packs and the 3 wheeled motorcycles.
