The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Jul 30 → 33.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I get to the the mid chapter 4 and I'm stuck under the ground. The previous save is like an hour or two before the last checkpoint. The thing is I'm not gonna run my ass through any point of the campaign I've played again. The game won't tell me how to skip the cutscene, and I'm not even eager to search for it since the game wouldn't tell me how. Game is ASS. My friends also think this game is ASS. The most fun thing about this game is that we encounter ASS things in this game, especially the gameplay design, and we laugh so hard about it. I had the best laugh on LanCer Grenaade Launcher dialogue. It was ASS.
Gears 5 has all you could want from a AAA third-person shooter. It's a visual treat, with gorgeous environments that look incredibly sharp and smooth on modern displays. The sound design is phenomenal; from the thunderous roar of the Lancer to the crunching impact of a close-quarters execution, every single engagement lands with massive force and brutal satisfaction. The gunplay lands with incredible weight, making every firefight feel intense and rewarding. Gears 5 is a thrilling, heavy-hitting masterpiece, whether you’re jumping into the campaign or tearing through multiplayer. A must-play all around!!”

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Gears 5 suffers from the same things other games of the time do: Excessive monetization, FOMO, hero abilities, an open-world experience, and a story that felt so forced because... that's what it was; forced, to get another game out of the franchise, with no consideration if any of these features are healthy for Gears of War or video games at large.
Gears 5 is the second game in the Reboot by the Coalition, a continuation company of the Epic Games Team that made the original three Gears of War games Lackluster, cringe and with little love is one of the words I would put for this game, but good is not one of them. Gears 5 is an imitation of a Gears of War game, that tried to cater to an audience of people that do not exist, and tried by build a type of sequel that you'd imagine the Star wars sequel to be //// Singleplayer: Characters honestly feel completely unsympathetic, you never beside the original characters feel any connection to any of the characthers you play as from Gears 4. All of them have these weird dialogues with way to much moments that you are supposed to feel sorry for, and moments where they do very dry and unfunny humour. This whole arc later in the game when you play this woman "Kait" is unlovable and feels like a very lacklustre character, there is nothing likeable about this character and her backstory does not help that either. Not sure how sympathetic you can be about someone having migraines during gameplay The story is pretty boring, you don't feel immersed in the plot, the Swarm feels like an after thought even early in the game, and never feels like they really have an impact on the story until the very end of the game. Unlike the Locust, who felt like an existential threat. The game first starts with some plot off an attack, then they shift the tone over to this woman that absolutely needed to have an entire chapter regarding her migraine problems. The game is also too emotional on some backgrounds characters, you find a corpse for example, and they build an entire story of that which you do not really feel an impact for For some reason even though the 4th game tried to Establish this enemy, they never feel like they are an impact on the world, life goes on for most and suddenly they just are there for plot reasons. The Level Designing sometimes can be pretty bad, areas can feel very empty while they do have a lot of cover and feels like they could have more swarm encounter or bot encounters, but instead its mainly just a lot of walking to get to some areas before the scripted cutscenes happen. Some areas also does not feel like they have the player in mind, for example if you're supposed to pull a lever or something you cannot do this before the AI teammates reaches there, and even if they do, you have to back out of some spaces in order for those buttons to appear, even while you we're there. The Campaign seems to have a liking to these door prying animations, after a while it started to be very repetitive and felt like spam instead of game mimick The campaign has an awful lot of bugs related environmental issues to BOT navigation, sometimes they spawn out of sight only for them to never leave that place, and leave you sidelocked out of the mission, and sometimes they phase through the ground which looks you also out of finishing the mission. Into the Open world environment of the game, i kept getting stuck in a lot of places, for some reason there's a lot of invincible walls that keeps popping up in areas, and this makes you have to reload the chapter again in order to make them disappear Some of the boss fights are pretty boring, while some are good some enemies are just straight up annoying to fight. Especially the return of the Berserker zzz... There's too many weapons now based of these gadgets made by Baird, like there's for some reason a additional sniper rifle that just needs to be charged, and then there's an additional shotgun that just fires 4 shots. Its pretty silly that you can reload your weapon again for critical hits, the whole point of them was a reward for hitting the reload correctly, now it doesn't feel like they are not worth it The jackbot is an ok addition, it can feel addictive to find these parts for it. I still feel like it would be better without it however, but it only needed to be used the moments the game spammed to many enemies at you I do like the attention to detail in some areas of the game, they seemed to have nailed the graphical sides atleast Interesting to roll with a open world, but this is not what Gears of war is really known for //// Multiplayer: Gears multiplayer will always lie in a kind of limbo where 1 weapon will be better over the other due to the cover mechanics. This changed a little bit with Gears 5 with the introduction of a more player friendlier approch The game kinda feels like an RPG now, did Gears of war really need Hitmarkers, Damage Numbers and Floating Healthbars? It really does just kill the experience for you during atleast the campaign. You can turn these off, but these should be off for singleplayer by default Gears of War does not need a FOV slider, the 75-80 FOV sets a tone as it is, i get the new approach for some gamers, but it just ruins the experience. You we're supposed to feel enclosed to feel the weight of the environment Out of the many dumb things they changed with Gears 5, is this huge and god forsaken new Healthbar. It takes up the whole screen, you can barely see anything Why do I have to hold down to pick something up? Just let me click it once to pick it up Microtransaction hell, completely ridiculous how you have to pay to play the characters in multiplayer. In all of the Gears games except for Judgement you could just pick a character and play them, and here they expect you to pay real life money to play a character //// End Comment: You are not really missing out on this, while Gears 5 has the latest version of Horde that has been improved, including the Hivebusters gamemode Neither the Campaign or the general multiplayer is anything but satisfying Mods that i used during the Singleplayer: - Intro skip
Gears 5 stands as the most ambitious and refined entry by daring to push beyond the series’ tight corridor shooter roots while retaining its signature visceral combat. Shifting the narrative focus to Kait Diaz is the best choice the franchise has made in a decade. Her personal connection to the Swarm gives the campaign an emotional core and psychological depth that Marcus Fenix's stoic heroism never quite aimed for. The active reload mechanic, tactile cover system, and punchy gunplay remain the best in the genre. The addition of open ended tundra and desert hubs traversed via the wind powered Skiff breaks up the pacing brilliantly. Only things that felt jarring was a late game narrative choice which feels somewhat shoehorned into a series traditionally driven by linear, canonical storytelling, undercutting some of the emotional payoff and also facing some problems while playing Co Op with friends as the server keeps on disconnecting very often. But apart from all that, Gears 5 successfully modernizes the series without sacrificing the brutal, heavy, and satisfying combat that put it on the map.
I would love to review Gears 5. There's just one small problem. I CAN'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PLAY IT. I have a WD Black SN850X 4TB in my PC. A ridiculously fast NVMe SSD. I click Play. And Gears 5 apparently enters another dimension. Nothing. Loading. Waiting. More loading. Still waiting. WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ ARE YOU LOADING? THE ENTIRE PLANET OF SERA? I don't even reach the point where I can complain about the gameplay. That's how impressive this is. My biggest enemy isn't the Swarm. It isn't a boss. It isn't some giant monster trying to tear me apart. IT'S THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STARTUP SCREEN. I'm sitting here with expensive hardware watching Gears 5 behave like I installed it on a USB stick I found in a parking lot. Come on. My SN850X can push gigabytes every second. Gears 5 looks at that performance and apparently says: "No thanks. I'll take my time." OH, WILL YOU? Fantastic. Take all the time you need. Maybe I'll come back tomorrow. Maybe Marcus will be retired by then. Maybe humanity will have colonized another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ galaxy. Maybe the menu will finally appear. And that's what makes me angry. I WANT TO PLAY IT. I like Gears. I WANT the Lancer. I WANT the campaign. I WANT Horde. Instead, I'm playing my favorite new game: Stare at the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Loading Screen Simulator. Absolutely incredible. I've got a 4TB SN850X sitting inside my PC doing nothing while Gears 5 contemplates whether it feels emotionally prepared to start. Can't rate the game. CAN'T GET INTO THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ THING. The Swarm didn't defeat me. Microsoft didn't defeat me. My hardware didn't defeat me. The Play button did. Congratulations, Gears 5. You're the first game where the final boss appears before the main menu.
Segue meu primeiro contato. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfWb3sYnizY
Beat the game on insane difficulty with a friend, but was a nice hard slog fest that felt like in every which way. My balls were being crushed, tossed into a blender, got my ♥♥♥♥ beat in, and I have to sit there come back, and say 'please sir can I have some more' as a locus smiles and just shoves a overkill shotgun in my ass to finish me off. The weapons, oh yeah those are fun, those bullets you shoot on insane difficulty. Hope you like running out of ammo constantly, and the enemies yeah. Hope you like shooting them with a wet napkin, cause that's what it feels like. Only weapons that were worth a ♥♥♥♥ if they were overcharged were the sniper rifle, embar/Relic, and overkill shotgun. For the bot upgrades, honestly the only ones that are worth a ♥♥♥♥ to get the max for depending on your difficulty are enemy hijacking and stim. The gameplay itself, there are like one key moment where you get the hammer of light back at the end of the game. The story is a hard hit or miss for everyone, but just super short. You got open world exploration for act 2-3, but the 1st, and 4th act you are railroaded. Played gears of war 1-3 on the old xbox 360, but jesus christ I wish they stopped after 3 and left it be. It's like just milking an already dying cow. Adding onto this ♥♥♥♥ a day or two later. The story is also a buggy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a mess. Much as the other comments say about crashing, at best I've crashed 4 times in the 19 hours of playing. Beyond that it's just screen bugging, or flying underneath the map when on the skiff.
My review from 2019 on this game: What sets this game apart is that it doesn’t have the linear levels typical of the Gears of War series; instead, it features a semi-open world with two massive locations where you can do whatever the hell you want (they even gave you a vehicle—that’s a plus). The plot is pretty well-written and interesting to follow (which is more than can be said for GoW4, damn it). There are fewer enemies in the locations—or practically none at all (which I’m counting as a plus for the game, compared to GoW4, which was just choked with that crap). Among the new features that are quite enjoyable, I’d like to highlight the robot sidekick and the additional quests on the map. 10/10 (considering how trashy the fourth installment was, this game deserves a 20 out of 10 within the series)
