A port of the classic title originally released in 2006 for feature phones, part of Bandai Namco acclaimed JRPG series, Xenosaga.
A spin-off of the Xenosaga trilogy and part of the Xeno metaseries, the story follows the human life of cyborg Ziggy a key character in the Xenosaga trilogy—a century before the events of "Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht".
In this spin-off, Ziggy—who appeared in the main story as a cyborg—steps into the spotlight as the protagonist.
The story centers on events 100 years before the main story, when he was still human and served in the Federal Police under the name Jan Sauer in counterterrorism operations.
Can Jan and his special investigations unit stop the brutal killer codenamed Voyager before further chaos unfolds?

I will make an English patch for this. I've spent the past couple of weeks absolutely tearing apart the i-mode version and figuring out how it works. No timeline on this yet since there will be a newer draft of the script compared to the captioned let's play, but just know it is in progress. Check the Vector Translations socials and eventually YouTube for updates once they're out. Also this game ♥♥♥♥♥ and everyone should play it
XENOSAGA 2026 IS REAL
Xenosaga on Steam. Ziggy deserves your attention!
One of the best Xeno characters in his own spin-off game. A must play for Xeno lovers. English patch for Steam, based on existing fan-translation should be available soon, so don't be shy, get the damn game! G-mode clearly knows what they're doing...advertising everything in plain English. They understand our hunger...our needs...our desires. Also, NAMCO, PLEASE BRING XENOSAGA TRILOGY TO STEAM. I NEED IT LIKE YESTERDAY.
It is incredibly surreal to see a modern re-release of a Xenosaga game, and I don’t think anyone was ever expecting Pied Piper of all things to get one, considering its status as a lost piece of media that wasn’t fully preserved online until 2025 by fans. Pied Piper is a game made for 2000s mobile phones, and despite the technological limitations, it is a well-presented prequel that will get you immersed in its mature story and world, which is set around 100 years before the events of Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht. Soraya Saga's and Tetsuya Takahashi’s writing in this game is great. You get to see Ziggy’s previous life as Jan Sauer truly fleshed out with his backstory set on planet Abraxas (which you would see glimpses of here and there in episodes I and II). The man Jan is trying to stop, Voyager, is a sadistically menacing villain, and I enjoyed how much of a memorable impact he’s made in the plot. The various pieces of lore introduced in Pied Piper are cool to see, and I like how they connect to the main games. The game’s battle system is similar to episode I’s gameplay. If you liked how the first entry played, then you’ll likely feel at home with Pied Piper’s combat. There is a fan translation of the original game’s cutscenes online along with a fan-made remake of the game should you wish to experience Pied Piper in English right now, and I highly encourage people to check them out. Now, I understand for some people this may be a disappointing release since this isn’t the main trilogy; however, I feel this release of Pied Piper shouldn’t be labelled as a nothing burger. Pied Piper is a genuinely good game that is just as important as episodes I to III, and it should not be skimped out on if you have any interest in this franchise. Thank you G-MODE, for re-releasing hidden gems like this, and I hope Bandai Namco will see the positive buzz as a sign to bring back the main Xenosaga games in the future.
This game currently supports Japanese Language only. It is a Game based off of Namco Bandai and Monolithsoft's Xenosaga series. The game has a graphic filter you can turn on and off, individual loadable chapters, and even an option to turn on a frame that replicates the experience of playing on an older feature phone from Japan during the time this game was released. It even has a mini time/clock on the top right of the frame! This game though to have been lost to time is now, for the first time, able to be purchased officially. Please support this game in hopes future Xenosaga titles may be brought back to us as rereleases, remasters, or remakes so they may be more accessible to others to play who as not major collectors such as myself. I hope this review helps!
