Honestly, a lot of fun! Looks gorgeous, runs well, the devs seem like they have more content in the pipeline which'll only strengthen the games already good mechanics and will hopefully introduce new ones. Runs surprisingly well on my system, honestly I set everything to max and hoped for the best, and the game/my system seem to play nicely at 2K res ~120-150 FPS range until late game where it drops off to the mid 70's FPS wise. If you like city builders and enjoy a level of building customization that not many games offer imo to the level this game does, this game might be worth checking out! The placement system and the snap like gridding the game has when building structures is something to brag about and a personal favorite element of mine! You can make the most basic, or elaborate structures. But you must always remain mindful that function and layout DO MATTER and are crucial to effective operation for your villagers and visitors. Your complexity and expansion are rewarded as progression with a "reasonable" upgrade/tech tree path. With all this being said, there are limits to the games ability to perform well in late game cities. I reckon this is due to the scale and limits of my hardware and not an issue with the game itself in my experience. Save often, save to the cloud (up to a point) auto saving to the cloud mid game does appear to cause more "sluggishness" that can be rectified by saving locally I've found. All in all, I can't wait for more from this game and team working on this!
Great game I love it. But very bad performance. Lagging, Freezing.
Used to love this game. Had not played in over a year. Still have not, as when I opened the game and changed a setting, it instantly crashed. Bugs and crashes are why I quit in the first place, and after full release I wish I could have Gotten even a single building down before a crash.
The map generator is awful to work with. Let us just draw it ourselves..
The game is charming and got something to it, but the stubborn lack of building roads, villages getting lost, and things like gates for fortifications suddenly not working puts a heavy damper on the game. I had to abandon multiple runs just because the game broke on me and gave me no options to fix it. Oops, your villages can't find one of the seven paths they used to use before? -40% happiness, everyone leaves, you are in debt. Better luck next time!
Needed a cosy game to enjoy that had some nice city building mechanics and some decent building creation and this game really hit the nail on the head!
I cannot believe how obsessed I am with this game, I am completely in love with it. I cannot get enough of it, I even dream about it!
