Voto finale: 8
Meet the potential game "A Final Fantasy for Fans and First-Timers" "It had the potential to be the darkest ff game" "Best written ff game in a long time" "Amazing for its brotherhood" give me liberty give me fire give me ffvs13 trailers or I retire 0 good writing 0 importance given to Lunafreya 14 boring chapters fit the story inside the game❌ spread out the terrible story across books, dlcs, demos and youtube videos; where you need a steam guide to follow it✅ at leaast sasuke ripoff looks nice
its great for the for the first half, nothing else really like it. It's fun going on a roadtrip with the boys in a modern setting with fantasy elements. They put a lot of effort into the little interactions between the characters for the camping and side activity segments. Sadly the worldbuilding and main story are a complete mess since most of it was carved off for a movie, anime, and various dlc but even if you engage with everything its still not clear what they were going for. The second half of the game is very linear and barebones and only really worth it for the dedicated fan. Shame that they had such big plans when it was ff13 versus and almost none of that survived in the final game but theres still half of an enjoyable game here.
One of the best games ever. Excellent writing and realistic frienships
10/10
i'll always hate the pacing of the story and the horribly-designed final boss battle but i forgive it all because of how beautifully bittersweet it is. made me cry when i was 15 and still managed to make me cry at 25. this game holds a special place in my heart i love it so much :((
One of the weaker Final Fantasy entries by far, but it had potential if Square Enix kept updating it and if they released the remaining Aranea, Lunafreya and Noctis' DLC that got adapted into a novel... There is a huge list of "what it could have been", chiefly among them is the combat: it is a departure from any variant of turn based combat (which even years prior they kinda moved away from, but the way they designed those combat systems weren't total departure to a turn based combat, at least "feel wise"). It has Active and Wait mode (I never used Wait mode), which at the beginning of the game were felt strangely both clunky and floaty. Clunky due to the fact one O/B press resulted into 2 multi hit attacks, so for people starting out would feel like the next O/B button press feels delayed. It has one of the worst parry systems since parry in this game is not a reaction check (which what I am personally used to), the X/square prompt comes too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ early that messes up the timing because a lot of the attacks land way later... I don't understand why put the prompt so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ early that when I press hold X/square, Noctis would just spot dodge. On the floaty side, SQENIX designed the action combat in such a way that you can cancel strings by tilting the sticks to the side for sways away from enemy, or string into different attack patterns like a sidesweep. It is quite different action combat design which is rare, but it is quite limited in options and the only real option to "combo" off of a side swipe is to Warp-Strike or otherwise you won't be able to chain another move since you'd be far away... It would have benefitted more from having more string follow-up options or perhaps a faster weapon-swapping feature that would keep the combo going, which is what they kind of did with the later release of Armiger Unleashed, which what saved the game for me personally. I think if they reworked the base combat by adding more string options for each weapon type and/or adding more unique string attacks for something like Ultima Weapon or really high-grade weapons, it would vastly improve the depth of the combat way more, which is why I am sad about this game. The combat looks quite shallow on the surface and it takes until you unlock Armiger Unleashed to get to the depths of the combat, and by that time you already feel checked out of the game. The most positive aspect for me is the exploration: I usually do not like traversing huge open world games but FF15 is genuinely the most gorgeous looking open world and genuinely fun to explore around. Altissia is a masterpiece, it gives me goosebumps thinking about how SQENIX managed to merge Venice with a fantasy take on ancient Greek art/architecture with a magical + futuristic setting... It is an absolute fever dream, all rounded with an ecclectic soundtrack made my none other than Yoko Shimomura. Honestly, SQUENIX usually has some some of the best and talented in the entire gaming industry, and I don't think OST is ever gonna be a weakness.
