They absolutely nailed the gameplay in X compared to past titles. Every character has a role in combat that gets utilized regularly, and is the difference between a one-shot kill and a multi-turned battle. Getting rid of the ATB system also worked really well here, with the combat timeline being a useful tool in boss battles to decide when to do specific actions before the next boss turn. I feel this is peak turn-based final fantasy gameplay. The achievements on the other hand are atrocious, and no one with a life should ever attempt a 100%. X-2 on the other hand brings back the ATB system which makes you realize how much nicer a classic turn-based system feels. I honestly liked the classic turn-based style of FF1-3 more than the ATB system of the following titles. Unfortunately the gameplay is a little underperforming here, as your characters benefit from job switching mid-combat to stack bonuses from each switch in series. This means to get your stronger abilities (e.g. cure upgrades to cura) you have to switch the job of your character (until later in the game when you spend the time to focus upgrading specific jobs and getting an accessory to make a hybrid job). This also only lasts for that one battle, so you are back down to the basic spell for the next battle so you have to rinse and repeat. Overall this problem is redundant because the difficulty in X-2 is very easy. I just sat with auto-battle on for the entire game and only had a small handful of fights that required me to throw a potion out a few times. They made a unique battle system that isn't all that great, just for the difficulty to be too low for anyone to actually utiltize the system.

FFX is def in my top 3 favorite rpg of all time. It has the older turn based format, incredible story and customization. Not a huge fav of X2 should of been a stand alone game.

história maravilhosa 10/10 ela começa meio galhofa, mas depois se torna incrível, joguem a gameplay é por turnos, não é meu estilo favorito mas comecei a gostar, aqui nesse jogo ela é boa demais
One of the best FF games ever made. Such a powerful story with great character design. Wonderful music worth the time and money!
