Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Final Fantasy VI might not be my favorite, but it's undoubtedly one of the best games in the franchise and one of the best i've ever played. With a memorable cast of characters, including the main villain, FFVI is a must play if you enjoy turn-based JRPGs, great music and a story that focuses heavily on its character, their struggles, their weaknesses, their personal tragedies and how they eventually overcome them. 9/10, I highly recommend it.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Like the other PRs, this is arguably the best way to play the games now but isn't perfect because if it were, they wouldn't have an excuse to re-release them several years from now. + 2.5D opera house with voiced singing tracks. I wasn't keen on Celes' singer though, either because I thought of her being different or it's weird to hear opera in your own language, which I've heard people attest from trying to sit through Purcell. + Deathgaze now visible on the map although not the minimap makes hunting it a lot less tedious. + Likewise a reduction in tedium, Cyan's Bushido techniques no longer need charging (there's a corresponding delayed action after input) and inputs for Sabin's blitzes are quite forgiving. + Boost features remain good for tweaking to your play style (more or less exp, magic learning, gold). Probably the big boon if you're a heavy Gau user is that you can turn encounters off and on and thereby limit the mobs appearing in any given group, so completing his rages is easier than ever. + People complain about the font, but I'm going to put on my disability advocacy hat and say that aesthetics are not more important than helping dyslexic folks enjoy games. That being said, you have options to switch back to an option close to the original and font heads have made further mods. + Stars indicating that you've completed learning the magic from any given esper is a nice little addition. You can also equip and adjust them (along with all other equipables) for characters not presently in your party and that's a great QoL update. + Music is as good as it's likely to ever be and some tracks like the Narshe defense have added musical motifs common to Terra's theme and the WoB overworld music if you, like me, were embarrassingly old when you discovered they were based on each other. + For the WoR, the hopeful overworld theme has never been better, likewise the symphonic elements introduced for the ending sequence. Complaints are... Eh... Valid in spots? - Towards the end, the game starts to glitch a little. Gogo might not have access to all spells in battle, or newly training magics might not appear in the window. - Some encounter rates for harder enemies like Ninjas have been nerfed, making hunting for Bestiary (and Rage) entries unnecessarily tedious. - You can't view equipment or magic anymore by tabbing through the status menu while arranging parties. Nor can you equip anyone differently via party arrangements, so lol, maybe do that before hitting the switch that portals you to the final boss? - Likewise, the interface has changed for Magic, Lore, and Rages. Where before, you could identify gaps in your collection by looking for blank spots, it now auto-organizes based on what you have presently, making omissions harder to identify (curiously, it DOES NOT do this in Espers, which is the one place it could be applied validly). - Seltzer's Slot ability has been made janky in good (more Mega Flares? Preposterously more?) and bad ways (really hard to get an unassisted Triple-7). You can get the Joker's Death achievement (kills enemy, not you) via Slot + Auto-Battle, but if I were Squeenix, I would simply not bind an achievement to an outcome where the programming cheats to prevent it. - More of a mixed bag, but the RNG resets on each new load of a save (even quick and auto) which makes it easier to hunt Rages within a Veldt group, BUT getting into random encounters in between doesn't reselect the group number anymore which means you're locked into the full cycle, in order, every time. - No bonus content from GBA / mobile if you were into those magicite or dungeons. I have to admit kind of enjoying uber dragon fights for the strategy. - I miss the Woolsley translation for all its faux Imperial Britain gestures which I thought melded well with the setting. This does fix some of the confusion though. All in all, good, but not perfect. Expect Square to do something else with it around or before 2030.
Absolute masterpiece!
Some of the most fun I've had while playing a game in a while! The story is great, it does a fantastic job of keeping you intrigued and wanting to know more. There is a really fun balance of enjoyment and difficulty, with a very nice difficulty curve to get around as well. My two favorite parts of the game are the explorability and characters. The game has so many nice things tucked away in corners of the game that you really need to search for to find, and they are usually well worth the effort. The characters are very well done and the game does a very good job of making you want to care for them as well, each having their own stories and emotions you get to explore, I love it. All in all I would give this game a solid 9/10, I can really see why so many people love this game as much as they do!
Good classic. The story did not catch me during the second half part of the game. Nor the end. But the game was fun and i understad why it's a famous game. Thx to pixel remaster for x4 xp and no combat whenever i want.
