Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

c'est ok mais objectivement ce n'es pas un très bon rpg et probablement le pire ff non spin off, ca reste un jeu tres important pour l'histoire de final fantasy mais j'aurai du mal a le recommander.
Overhated as hell- though im glad the leveling system did not become the standard going forward, it was not too bothersome during my time playing. Characters talked more, there was a cid and a dragoon(10/10), and the music is still good! Still not a fan of trap room gimmick dungeon design, hoping this doesnt stick either, but i had fun!
昔を懐かしみたい人向けのゲームですね。 ゲームとしてはそこまで楽しいとは思いませんでした。
Cool game. I guess it fixes most of the issues people had with the original. The boosts are also very nice additions, especially for the final dungeon. So many battles that don't really pose any risk at that point. Warp is such a fun spell tho, so funny to make some actual bosses just disappear with it. Ultima is apparently fixed in this release, but it must take an ungodly amount of grinding to get to do decent damage. I decided to just use Flare as my main damage dealing spell instead (when I couldn't use Warp and when there wasn't an elemental weakness I could exploit).
Starts of a little dry but I got into this one. Story's fun. They provide premade, named characters this time but they're generic still. They start fleshing them out more by the forth game. What they do do here is give you is unprecedented freedom. There are no classes, no gear restrictions, no leveling system (except for weapon types and individual spells). You can even dual wield which was cool in the 80s and 90s and remains so. You're only limited by the invisible rank of the monsters you encounter. That the Final Fantasy series never eliminated character levels again—nor have their been but a handful of RPGs without levels—tells me that people h-h-HATED it. It's novel though. Perhaps the most egregious part of the game, in your four person party, the fourth slot is reserved for a temporary party member. In other genres, this keeps the gameplay fresh and fun. In a somewhat grindy JRPG, where you're expected to level and gear up every one of them (except the first) and they then disappear and (maybe) return—with starter gear again—it can be painful and frequent saves become a must. It's open world but if you go the wrong way you generally get trounced. New gear almost comes too fast and furious. They introduced chocobos. There's a rudimentary dialog system and secret walls. They retconned in a reference to the fourth game. Again, I'd have liked an option to play with the original graphics. Cool entry though.
