Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

It's fun, but not as good as FFI in my opinion. Levelling was annoying, but the story was good. Bestiary was another grind, though that's to be expected. Did have to play it twice because some achievements are missable on a first playthrough.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Oh boy, where to start with this one. It's bad. There's no other way to say it and saying anything else is honestly just nostalgia blinders talking. There's a reason all of the 'Recommend' reviews only have about 20 hours in the game, it's just awful. Cons - The dialogue system is cumbersome to the point that it's just there to fill in play time, and at some points is so vague that you can easily find yourself traversing the map and accidentally missing a point so you have to backtrack to get it again. The leveling system is horrendous and for the most part serves zero actual purpose. Spells need to be at minimum level 10 to actually have a slight chance of hitting anything and getting them to that point is just a boring grind where you go into combat, spam the move over and over and it levels up. Until you get to about level 4 with it, then the casts needed to level up start getting higher to where it takes 5+ combats to get even a single level of it. Armor serves zero purpose. It's arguably better to run the entire game with no armor, arms, or helms equipped, and even if you do use gear it at no point feels like it makes a difference. The party constantly swaps the 4th member of it so even if you do spend time grinding stats for them you wasted that time and lose the character after about an hour with them, and only has any purpose if you do the extra content after the game. The story felt meh at the best of times and a lot of it was just filled with back and forth between like three spots. It somehow simultaneously felt like it took forever but also was the shortest story ever. Base game configuration makes the game as a whole just a drag. Gil is earned at a rate that is arguably slower than just picking up change off the ground. And the costs of travel are very high in comparison until you get to about mid game. You basically HAVE to turn the boosted income on. Pros - The pixel graphics are nice I guess? Genuinely, I played it because I'm playing all the FF in a row. If you're doing that go ahead and spend an evening knocking it out. If you're looking for a game to play to have fun in, avoid this like the plague. Really, it has virtually no redeeming qualities, which is a shame because I really enjoyed the first one and I've enjoyed some of the later FF I've played. But this one just misses every single mark it could possibly go for.
Jogão. Essa experiência da série com o Pixel Remaster tá muito boa!
Final Fantasy II, despite it s name, is not ACTUALLY the "final" fantasy. Throughout my time spent with it I learned that was but the first of its many subversions. I learned to stop opening treasure chests cause you just know ts gonna be like Monsters! And have the only problematic encounter in the area s enemy pool spawn, only to be like, The chest contained Potion! You cannot carry any more! Okay thanks. I learned never to trust doors because 99% of all doors in the game go to nothing and there are doors in every dungeon even caves and their entire purpose is to go to nothing. Even the rare times they go to something they actually went to nothing, except maybe twice where they went to something that was something. You can only trust stairs. Eventually I was always just looking for the stairs cause I could trust stairs. Beyond that the game be like go here talk to person, person tells you go there talk to person2, person2 be like here s my secret word, go back to person and tell them my secret word. Go back to person they say with this word, we have unlocked person3, please go to person3. Yes ma am I will do that for you but only because you asked so nicely. And none of this would be so bad if that was ACTUALLY the FINAL FANTASY but they couldn t even get that part right. Idk if i ll ever game again. There is only one crystal the only crystal is a blue crystal, Josef hides his snowboard behind it. What? THAT S WHAT I M SAYING. Final Fantasy 1 (absurd thing to say, I KNOW dont even get me started) was like, we have to stop the god of all Chaos from obliterating the world and ruining the crystals forever and the overworld music was like buh buh, buhduhbuh buh, buhduh buh buh, buhhh ba buh so full of whimsy NOW final fantasy 2? the game be like, an evil emperor is being evil and trying to rule the kingdoms WAY less badass and epic imo but the overworld is like, nbunbunbunbuubunubnubuhhhhh,,, BUHHH buhhh........ buhh buhhh buhh buhh buhh buhh....... DEPRESSING like bruh we re obv gonna win so suck it up and lock in can you not do this one thing for me? Final Fantasy 2..... TWO.... you re joking
Muito bom, melhor que o primeiro!
This is a good re-release of my favorite Final Fantasy (please do not hate me 😅). The rebalancing makes sense and all plus the option for compensatory HP gains is a welcomed boost. However, like with FFI, I wish there were 2 different modes available as it is too easy compared to the original. This is because prices are lower, you level up spells and weapon skill too quickly, and you virtually never miss your target.
