Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Its awesome. I never played the older FF games and being able to play the pixel remasters has been a blast. There are settings you can enable to boost exp/gold gain which helps lessen the grind and stay moving with the story.
Final Fantasy 2 is either the worst FF or most overlooked, and it's not without merit. It doesn't have the benefit of being the first, and it didn't shake up the formula enough like 3 or 4. The story is pretty bare bones and generic, there's a lot of annoying dungeon design, character building is awkward, and it really does feel like it was pushed out quickly after the first game proved such a success. But still, it has its charms. The skill growth system and passwords could've become staples with some better game design to back them up. Honestly, this is the least "Final Fantasy" of the original few until 15 and 16. In many ways it's a lot like The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. The Pixel Remaster makes playing FF2 not as bad as it could be, but it struggles to be enjoyable or engaging quite often. Still, if you're going for a full Final Fantasy completionist run, it's not as bad as everyone says it is.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

They made another one!?
I wanted to try out FF2 as one of my earlier entries in the franchise as I heard it is ranked lower among all FF entries. To my surprise I think I like it the most out of the first 3 entries in FF. I think the story is simple but interesting. Quite a few characters are killed off in the game and plot is to stop the emporer from destroying the characters world. The music is really good in this entry to. The reason most don’t like this game is the progression system is weapon use based instead of leveling based. I didn’t find that to be an issue with this entry even though I was able to 3 shot the final boss with the blood sword. I really liked 2 and hope others will give it a shot and not pay attention to what others say on reddit
top demais...
This game is tough to recommend because there's just as much going against it as there is going for it. The leveling system is similar to that of Skyrim, in that your weapon and spell proficiencies level up as you use them, but the pace is so slow that I've never once had them organically reach max level whilst playing the campaign. That really sucks, especially as you unlock new spells as the game reaches its conclusion, so there's hardly any time to use the already broken system to level them up. If you choose a few things to focus on early in the game, it works really nicely in that regard. And the quality of life features make progression less annoying instead of cheating like in other Final Fantasy games; here, I wouldn't blame anyone, particularly new players, for using them because of the game's design flaws. I'd still recommend it as someone who slogged hours of this on the Dawn of Souls port back on the GBA, so I'm used to it, but it's a tough pill to swallow for new players who don't know how unforgiving this game can be, which I can respect. Call it Stockholm Syndrome, I guess.
Que de bon vieux souvenir, très bon jeu :) !
PROS(+) + great ost : i prefer ff1 ost more but the ost is still great, has more deeper tone + interesting leveling system : it's different to typical rpg leveling mechanic, pretty cool + has lots of freedom like character build + not too easy + good transportations + decent rebel story + boost feature that offers option not to grind CONS(-) - too much freedom and yet lack of info : could have been helpful by explaning how stats can increase in depth, hidden rooms can be too difficult to find - sudden level spike in some map location was surprising, donno why it can be easily accessible at the beginning - ask/learn was a bit annoying when i had to go back cus i missed a word to ask or i forgot to learn first and then ask - plots aren't that consistent - so many vacant rooms :( Score : A-tier (80%) good game
