far cry at its peak take the perfect far cry 3 gun play and throw in the most dumb 4 hours 80s satire campaign and you got this game basically fun as hell

I've held off on making review for this game for a long time and there's a reason. This game is extremely difficult and very short meaning the difficulty pads out the amount of time you're supposed to be playing. When a video game does that, it's a bad omen that something is very wrong with the video game. Basically, I had to cheat my way to victory with this game because it was too difficult. There's a mission in the game where you're faced with a dragon and you can't get killed by it while you're trying to escape a facility and that's where I kept failing and got upset and then I installed an invincibility mod. Dragons are more than overpowered in this game and the only weapon that seems to really eliminate them is the minigun. Having to actually face one in combat is literally the worst thing in the world and to make it a required mission really sucks. Otherwise this game nails the 80s vibe perfectly, and it's a very good follow-up to the third game. Outside of the huge difficulty spike in the middle of the game that I just talked about, this game is better than the 3rd game in my opinion. Although I'm a little perplexed why they call it "Far Cry 3" Blood Dragon because it doesn't really resemble anything with the third game at all. This entire game is basically a standalone add-on just like the Arcade for Far Cry 5. Last thing I need to mention is Power Glove. They are some of the best synthwave musicians of our era, and you get to hear original music composed by them for this entire game, which is very epic! The tracks are pretty short, though. I wish this game had longer tracks and that they had more than just handful of tracks. Most of the music in this game repeats, as in it's the same song for the specific side mission type you're doing.

Good add-on with an amazing stylisation. This futuristic vaporwave retro look, story inspired by the 90's action movies and good old Far Cry 3 gameplay loop, satisfying movement and gunplay, all in all crerates a fascinating game and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend, but you need some fixes for it to run on modern PC's.

A fantastic love letter to classic sci-fi action movies and one of the most enjoyable Far Cry experiences I've had.
