You owe us money, Joe, and we plan to collect. We don't care where it comes from, but you'd better not skip town on us. Otherwise your family will be searching the river for your body.

About
Family Man is a dark, story-led RPG that asks the question: When pushed to the limits of your own morality, how far would you go for the sake of your family?

You owe money to the mob, and you've got three weeks to pay it back. Will you flip burgers and earn an honest living while scraping the money together... or will you take on some dirty jobs for more cash, but potentially push your family away?
Every decision you make affects everyone around you. The neighborhood will blossom or perish under the weight of your decisions, while the path you choose may lead to your household becoming stronger than ever... or the breakdown of your marriage and relationship with your child.

Explore Riverport, and decide how you want to deal with each situation that arises
Earn cash the hard (legal) way, or break a few rules here or there
Every choice you make affects the neighborhood and your family
Dozens of missions to complete and stories to resolve
Unlock unique perks that suit your gameplay style
Multiple different endings based on the decisions you made

Beautiful story, engaging and fun gameplay, what more could you possibly want?
I was put off by the asset store characters/environment, thinking it was an asset flip, but after hearing from a friend to give this one a chance regardless, I'm glad I did. A fun roguelike challenge, an infuriating family (I worked to the bone, spent almost every night at home reading the kid bedtime stories, and then get a 'we haven't seen you much lately' conversation - I was ready to flip tables), and some surprising twists along the way. Props to the dev team.
Funny and interesting start, but boring after 30 mins, too repetitive.
👎🏽
probably one of my favorite games, i recommend it to all of my friends i just wish it had a multiplayer option. i think it would be sick asf for a family man 2 to come out in the same or similar town, you have the main story and can also have your friends join in on the game
I enjoyed it.
This is just a chore simulator and not one of the modern good ones with good mechnics. Family ist annoying and gives no reason to care for them, except you lose if you don't. Many tasks are mindless, take long and are mandatory. Combat is stiff and you can beat up any enemy with your bare hands. The writing and dialogues are tiring, as you are constantly blamed for things beyond your control, are unable to reason with NPCs, are insulted or disregarded by immature characters and rarely apppreciated for the work you do. By the game's end all of the narrative is thrown out of the window and you recieve a big middle finger from a character who does't even exist. Only buy this game if you like to mindlessly collect trash and accumulate worthless money.
