Family Man: Prologue

A great intro to what, I'm sure, will be a cool game. The intro lets you pick a partner and takes you through key moments of your life together up to the point where you end up working for the mob. It gives you a sneak peak at the town you'll be exploring in the full game which looks to be very open and provide lots of ways to pay back what you owe. I like the small choices in the intro and from the few minutes available in the town I was already able to make some more interesting ones. Recommended to anyone who likes choice-filled games or gritty shows like breaking bad.

I've played through the Family Man Prologue three times and I'm so impressed with it! I wasn't sure how I would feel about it because I'm not usually drawn to games with this style of graphics but I have to say that I was pulled into the world immediately. In fact, the menu music was very evocative and set the right tone from the first second that I booted it up. The soundtrack is one of the best features in the game. I really liked the guitar rock at the beginning! Then, what I found really effective, was the way that the musical changes enhanced the alternating settings and scenes. I found all the dialogue to be very well written and inclusive which I really appreciated :) And the story is compelling from the start with more than one surprise that I was not expecting! I think that the game mechanics and menus are well implemented and don't get in the way of the story. The design of the world and the characters are wonderful and really appealing. Some really nice art work and design here. Which brings me to what I feel, for me at least, is the most effective feature of the game and that is a very dark story concealed beneath a beautiful, pleasing and, at first glance, unthreatening looking world. I felt this most strongly at the end of the prologue. It's quite interesting to walk around such an innocent looking envrionment while there are dark secrets and very real threats lying just beneath the surface. Fantastic stuff!

I like this game already! It was funny how I get confused with the gender of people and how things just turned out at the beginning. Lol. The prologue was kind of fun and surprising. Prologue has me intrigued. It was short and squeezed in a lot of creativity in a short span of time. Paint the town Red is one of my favorite voxel styled fighting games, but this seems to be similar with a story. If it is not good, then I will be severely disappointed. The controls felt a bit heavy moving. I hope to have more realistic interactions like punching wife/kid yields a result or ending. It will show a dark side. Maybe even use an achievement for that and we will know the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out there haha (like meee!) Anyhow, just playing the prologue, I might get the game. Not quite sure. I will read other comments and reviews on the full game.
