After having a terrible experience with 'Duet', I honestly thought that there's a possibility that I just don't like artsy games. But 'Expand' has proven that to be false. While 'Expand' is dead set on making sure that people who played this game to get the magical 'Game is an experience' feelings, it managed to have unique and competent mechanics within it by just having me move a square through a series of levels/puzzles that are designed with incredibly clever usage of shades, negative and positive spaces, as well as a single color(red). Though I do wish that they use more than just the red color to design a more elaborate levels/puzzles in the game. While the highlight of 'Expand' are the brilliantly and uniquely designed levels/puzzles, I can't help but to think that some of them are not that well thought of. It felt like two different people are designing in their own way and they just mash it together. Nevertheless, still a great short puzzle game to play and finish in a few hours. Also, kudos to the devs for not putting the Steam achievements in 'Expand'.

On a quest to play things in my backlog, and if it doesn't hold me enough I stop. The game is good and fine, for a flash game, which is essentially what it is. It has good music, and is not bad, but for $4.99 USD it feels overpriced. Steam needs a dollar and 2 dollar bargain bin section for games, and this would be a jewel in that section, but in the 5$ section it is hard not to feel a bit disappointed. So do I recommend the game? Yes, but wait for it to be on sale for a price you would consider reasonable for a 2 hour flash game.

This is perhaps the most beautiful and moving title I have ever played. Something you don't get from the trailer is that there are no loading screens. The whole game feels like one contiguous level. I don't know what magic they are using to make the world move the way it does.

It's difficult to convey through words or even video how entrancing the experience of playing this game can be. Had a thoroughly lovely time.

beautiful, short game. I feel super relaxed when things go well and super unsatisfied when they don't. I couldn't really put it down.

Short, simple, yet with a lot of good challenge and well paced gameplay. Christopher Larkin once again works his magic with music, creating an intensely beautiful soundtrack that pairs wonderfully with the gameplay. If you aren't a fan of red blocks moving through gaps, this isn't the game for you, but it's most certainly worth checking out.

Very interesting game that makes you think differently and really readjust your mind.
