I believe this is now officially my most played game on steam. Little more that I can say that hasn't already been said about this simple yet brilliant game. Equal parts fun as a way relax and just zone into a comfy game or steadily chipping away at the leaderboard trying for a new highscore or fastest time. If you like puzzle games please play Mixolumia. I hope you'll love it as much as I do.
I'm going to recommend Maxolumia, but this is a mixed review. Everyone compares this to Tetris, and there is some connection between the two games, but I feel it's a different thing. The diamond shape and bricks that break apart and slide down the brick parts already placed on the board is a wildly different mechanic for me. Plus, the diagonal connections between like colored bricks is FAR less intuitive than Tetrises up and down. The game is cure, and the sounds and music is very well done for a retro style game. That said, I just did not have enough fun with this one to come back to it often. Mixolumia is a solid game, and if the demo video speaks to you go ahead and pick up a copy, but I'm not going to give Mixoluia a strong general recommendation for everyone.

It's very good and plays excellently on a Deck too. A+.
Great bang for your buck! If you enjoy a boots-to-the-ground arcade puzzler with very rich audiovisual stimulus and a lot of room for mastery, it's for you. Great for relaxing or pushing scores. Runs and plays excellent on the deck
Mixolumia has became my latest go-to ' i just need to clear my head' steam deck puzzle game that I play when I can't sleep. I cleared most of the challenges a while ago but going through a couple of runs each session, changing the colour palette each time, while listening to a podcast, is very relaxing.
Mixolumia is like mixing Doctor Mario with Tetris. There is not much to say about the game, if you are aware with any of them, that's how Mixolumia plays, with the addition of the gem shaped board where you need to match your shapes. The gameplay is easy to get into, but hard to master it. There are a few music tracks in the game which are fine, and 5 different game modes to play. To tell the truth this game formula works just fine, but if you can't enjoy playing mainly for a leaderboard or having repetitive gameplay, then you won't like this game. Also, there could have been more music tracks for the game. In my case, I had some fun in my first session, but after that I never opened it again, as I was not interested to play it again due to the lack of variety. Because of this I would recommend to either try the game out first or watch a video about, and if you still interested in the game, buy it on sale. It's not a bad game, but it really depends if the player can properly enjoy it. I will recommend it just because of this reason only.
Bastante relaxante e bonito o jogo
I would not recommend it. I even regret buying this. I was hoping this could be a game I come back to every once in a while for a game or two, like to Tetris, but I doubt that will be happening. I might try it again at some point to see if I can force myself to like it more, but I have been very disappointed. Now, it is not terrible, but it is far less intuitive than Tetris, and nowhere near as enjoyable. The music also quickly got very annoying. There's 5 music tracks which you unlock and can choose from. None of them are great, but the music tracks are fine if you play the 450 clear modes, as then the music fits and ramps up at the end of your game. But if you play endless/survival and survive long, or play on the "relaxed" mode where you can't lose, the music gets to the end and starts looping a very short few seconds long segment, over and over, driving you mad. I had to mute the game on the "relaxed" mode as it was otherwise unplayable. And you can't mute just the music, there is only one audio option for all game audio. Another issue is that getting big combos relies mostly on luck, until you get good at the game, but the game is just not fun enough and way too unintuitive to bother trying to get good at it. I completed both the 450 clear modes, marathon and intense mode, but I was never having fun with it. The only positive about this game I can say, is that there is nice customisation of the block colours. You can choose your own colours for the blocks to be whatever you want. If the game had a demo I would suggest trying it to see if you gel with the game (you'll be able to tell in a minute or two if the game works for you, as it never gets better), but since there isn't even a demo (apparently there was once, but they've made it unavailable now), I would just avoid this. I thought I would like it from seeing the gameplay and loving games like Tetris and Lumines, but this is just a much worse game than both of those games. TL;DR Avoid it. Play Tetris, or Lumines, or even Dr. Mario, instead of this.
Super fun and simple game. I love that you can pick the soundtrack/effects to have a different vibe depending on your mood. I love the summer showers in particular, very relaxing. I got most of the achievements a while ago, but I still play pretty regularly because I find it really good for clearing my head after a stressful day.
Mixolumia is a masterpiece. It offers something incredible both for the competitive among us, and for the more casual player. It is completely customizable in its color scheme, visually gorgeous, and has impeccable sound design and music, which may truly be unmatched among all games of this genre that I have seen. As a world-class player of another game in the falling block puzzler genre, I can say that Mixolumia offers a genuinely deep intellectual challenge, and the skill ceiling is unknowably high; meaning then, this game exhibits rare excellence as a competitive single player game. AND YET, somehow simultaneously, Mixolumia manages to accomplish the task of being an *incredibly* comfy and relaxing game. Put on the Summer Shower music track and play the Relaxed mode with your favorite colors, and you can experience true zen. Speaking as well as an apprentice mathematician, I can say the mechanics of Mixolumia are elegant, and much like Tetris, this game stands as an expression of something beautiful: it's a game that touches something fundamentally approachable in terms of a mathematical paradigm, while exhibiting itself as an incredibly satisfying, enthralling, and of course, an extremely fun game when you really get into it. As a falling block puzzler, naturally, Mixolumia is consistently compared to the poster child of that genre, which is of course Tetris. But I think that does this game a disservice. Mixolumia deserves to be understood on its own terms, as a new creation with immaculate vibes.
