Swan Song

Swan Song is a puzzler with snippets of story that describe the impact of tragedy and loss on a family. Each puzzle is a music box with a wooden swan and multiple moving parts. The objective is to create a path that moves the swan from its starting point to a marked destination. Your path consists of tiles and obstacles that are shifted and turned according to how you have arranged a series of musical notes. Sounds easy? Think again! The game consists of 9 levels with 12 music boxes each. Then there are 18 bonus boxes. Do the math and this is a lot of puzzles. Artifacts and mementos with narration are scattered among the puzzles and these tell an emotional tale of grief and dysfunction. New puzzle mechanics are gently introduced along the way, which means that you are challenged from start to finish. The original music provides a chill background with synthesizer tones that create a “music box” atmosphere. The voice acting is professionally done. Overall, it is a solid puzzle game with a heart. Progress is automatically saved. If you leave an individual puzzle unfinished, that specific puzzle will be reset when you return. Loading back to a prior save point is not intuitive. You must select the level and specific puzzle you were working on to get back to your exit point. Most Steam achievements are awarded by completing levels, with a couple related to hidden puzzles. Once you have finished a level, you can return to any point (music box or artifact) within that level. Despite the variety created by evolving puzzle mechanics and increasing difficulty, I grew a bit weary of the music box motif. If you don’t mind repetition, then I recommend Swan Song. It will touch your heart and stretch your mind. とてもユニークで良いパズルゲーム。 ４拍子の表拍でギミックが、裏拍で白鳥が動き、白鳥がゴールに到達できるよう何拍子目でギミックを動かすかを考えるパズルになっている。章ごとにギミックが増えていき、パズルも複雑になっていくが、難易度もほどよい。 言語はパズル部分には全く影響しないため、言語が非対応でも気軽に遊んでみてほしい。

very chill puzzle game with an innovative programming concept but without being overwhelming. the music theme is a nice extension but you don't have to be audiophile or anything like it.

퍼즐의 재도전이 쉬워 많이 머리를 쓰지 않아도 풀리고 챕터마다 새롭고 직관적인 기믹들이 나와서 재밌게 즐기기도 좋았어요 슬프지만 감동적인 이야기와 좋은 음악은 퍼즐을 풀어가는 목표를 만들어 줘서 그 부분도 괜찮았구요 한글이 없지만 퍼즐을 푸는데에는 영어가 전혀 필요치 않고 온전히 스토리 해석에만 필요해요 스토리도 많이 길지 않은 문서와 보이스 형식으로 되어있어서 큰 부담도 되지 않고요 가볍게 즐길 스토리 혹은 퍼즐 게임이 필요하시면 해보시길 추천드려요

It was truly an honor to playtest this game and translate it to Brazilian Portuguese! It's a very charming and comfy puzzle game with a very touching story about family and loss accompanying progressively harder puzzles that take place inside a literal music box. I love it quite a lot, and can't recommend it enough! --- Foi realmente uma honra fazer o playtest deste jogo e traduzir ele para o Português Brasileiro! Esse é um jogo de puzzle bem charmoso e confortável com uma história tocante sobre família e perda, acompanhando puzzles que se tornam progressivamente mais difíceis que se passam dentro de uma caixa de músicas. Eu amo muito esse jogo, e não posso recomendar suficientemente!

Swan Song is truly a cozy, simple little puzzle game that you struggle to put down. As you move along, the game does a good job at introducing new mechanics and building upon the puzzles to introduce more variation with it's simple design. The music is quite nice and is enjoyable to listen, yet doesn't become too much when you're thinking about the puzzles set before you. The visuals are good. There really isn't anything too much to note, but you can easily take note of all the moving pieces within the puzzle. The story is simple, but effective. I do wish there was more with the story, but for what it is, it works. There are some slight downsides to note down. For one, once the game has a full toolkit and the puzzles start becoming more interesting, the game does end. There are hidden puzzles you can find, but if you aren't one to look for the additional content, can leave you wanting for more since the game has finally put all it's pieces out for you to explore. Secondly, there can be a little visual clutter in the beginning of each puzzle. Specifically, all the notes can overlap one another from time-to-time off to the side which can make it hard to discern the pieces you have to make use of. Again, not a major complaint, but something which was slightly frustrating at times. For $7.99. Swan Song is an absolute easy choice to pick up. For those interested in puzzle games, curious seeing it around on the store page, or maybe a sale caught your eye; Swan Song is a precious title to sit back and enjoy. The game does an excellent job introducing new concepts to you and the puzzles never feel frustrating. It's a simple, cozy title and another lovely title for 2026.
