I like the game, but it has more playtime than content. It gets repetative alot faster than clearing the content
Satisfying little game although the abilities from level-ups could be more varied.
It was a positive experience but there were a few caveats: - I didn't like that there are so many different gems required to grind. It made sense later but it just means more mindless grinding for no real reason. - Gameplay also felt very slow in the beginning. It got progressively better with each lot of skill tree upgrades. - I didn't like the progression went 1.1 --> 2.1 --> 3.1 --> 4.1, etc instead of 1.1 --> 1.2 --> 1.3 --> 1.4, etc. I understood why it was done like that but so we could go through each planet before going to the next rung of difficulty but It took us a hot second to figure out why the game got so hard so quickly when we went 1.1 --> 1.2 --> 1.3, etc. - Once you got used to the roster of abilities to unlock in-game, every build made you hang out for the same 10 or so weapons that were extremely useful, another 10 that were OK and the rest were either mediocre, distracting or terrible filler. So if you got a bad run of luck with what was on offer with the 3 choices, it meant the run was harder because there was no reroll. The balance was way off. There were two abilties that felt like the devs KNEW they were a bad by tying unlocking of weapons to the use of two abilites. - The pistol was better than any other weapon but A LONG SHOT. Not even close. It's a boring weapon so I didn't stick with it but my friend who I was playing co-op with did and every game would do millions of points more damage than I did just because he used the pistol. And I had upgraded the weapons to max (with 3 perks attached) and the skill tree to the same level as each other. Could not figure out why such a huge discrepancy or why any one would bother with another weapon. Pro tip: some weapons don't do a whole lot of damage but instead focus on crowd control which, later on in the game, becomes equally essential as high damage weapons. - The system that used gems to sway the likelihood of abilities showing up in-game was great in theory and a really unique way to avoid doing a reroll which I appreciated at least on paper, but I had spent lot of gems and didn't feel that was accurately reflected. I had spent gems for it to never turn up only for it turn up as often as things I spent gems on to turn as often as possible. How much gold do I need to spend on luck for that to be accurately reflected? With all that being said, there was enough to continually unlock and test which made me want to come back and continue playing. Destroying huge waves of enemies was satisfying. One small thing I loved: the upgrade for pickup radius was generously reflected in the game. It meant upgrading that skill was worth spending the gold. The levels were varied enough and each class played differently; there was plenty to like about this game. I played this co-op with a friend and we didn't experience any kind of connection issue. I can't really comment on the single player experience as I only had one run by myself and felt like it was a much better co-op experience.
Perfect blend of customization and chaos! The UI is gorgeous, the abilities are super fun (and often quite original), and the progression makes for an experience that's tough to put down.

Fun, some strategy and lots to unlock. Worlds are different from each other with some replay. Game does make you replay the same work but on different difficulties to unlock more, but a few hours in and I'm good with it.
