Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
About
It’s been 20 years since the events of the original game. The virus won, and humanity is slowly dying. You play as Aiden Caldwell, a wandering Pilgrim who delivers goods, brings news, and connects the few remaining survivor settlements in barren lands devastated by the zombie virus. However, your true goal is to find your little sister Mia, who you left behind as a kid to escape Dr. Waltz's torturous experiments. Haunted by the past, you eventually make the decision to confront it when you learn that Mia may still be alive in Villedor — the last city standing on Earth.
You quickly find yourself in a settlement torn by conflict. You’ll need to engage in creative and gory combat, so hone your skills to defeat hordes of zombies and make allies. Roam the city, free run across Villedor’s buildings and rooftops in search of loot in remote areas, and be wary of the night. With every sunset, monsters take control of the streets.
Fifteen years ago, humanity was devastated by the Fall — a catastrophic event that would change the world forever. With the Harran virus spreading around the globe, people quickly found out that all hope for tomorrow is lost. By 2036, only a few settlements remain, and humanity is slowly dying, making way for the new species out there — a horde of relentless zombies.
Welcome to Villedor, one of the last bastions of humanity. During the day, survivors still try to have a life here and find a false sense of normalcy. Relationships are formed, dreams are dreamed, and life carries on. On the surface, everything seems… fine. Until sunset, that is. With the last ray of light dying out, other, more dreadful, dwellers of The City crawl out of their gloomy interiors, taking over the streets. If you are not vigilant and stay out too long in the dark, you may never return.
Not all fights can be won. Sometimes it’s best to run and, thankfully, you have the skills for it. Parkour lets you escape when odds are not in your favor. Jump from rooftop to rooftop, swing across the cityscape, ride ziplines, and much more. Whatever you do, experience a unique sense of freedom as you freerun across Villedor’s buildings and rooftops in search of loot or while running away from the dangers of the night.
In a world as dangerous as this one, only the strongest survive. Whether you prefer to smash, slice or dismember those who stand in your way, you have to be creative about it to make it through. And who says you need weapons? Utilize the entirety of your parkour moveset to get the jump on your enemies. Learn the ways of combat and parkour to feel the crunch of skulls and slices of flesh as you swing weapons or use your moves to fend off any forms of danger. And let’s not forget that Villedor has weapons that put the most advanced post-apocalyptic armories to shame.
Surviving in Villedor is easier with friends. Team up with up to 3 other players and increase your chances out there. Unravel the story together, take on Pilgrim Outpost challenges, or simply wreak havoc on the city streets.

As an old returning player coming back to Dying Light 2 after two years away, I am absolutely furious. I bought the game on Steam again to support the developers and experience the story from the beginning, only to discover that Techland has completely gutted the original opening prologue. The walk through the forest mansion with Spike, the Kyle Crane lore drop, and the intense first-night chase are all gone. These weren't meaningless tutorial scenes they were a huge part of the atmosphere, storytelling, and emotional foundation of the game. What makes this so frustrating is the reasoning behind it. If the goal was to help new players who just want to jump straight into co-op, YOU ALREADY HAD A “SKIP PROLOGUE” BUTTON! Why permanently remove the content instead of simply letting players choose? Anyone who wanted to skip the opening could already do so, while players who actually wanted to experience the story could enjoy it. There was no reason to take that choice away from everyone. The original prologue also served an important purpose narratively. It built the tension gradually, established the world, gave context to Aiden's journey, and connected the experience to the history of the franchise. Removing that buildup doesn't just make the game shorter it makes the opening feel hollow and creates gaps that hurt the immersion. I genuinely appreciate the visual upgrades and physics improvements, but it's incredibly frustrating to see those improvements come alongside the removal of content that gave the game character. After supporting Dying Light since the beginning, coming back two years later expecting to relive that experience and finding out that part of it has simply been erased is deeply disappointing. You didn't need to remove the prologue. You needed to let players choose whether they wanted to skip it.New players could have skipped it, and longtime fans could have experienced the story the way it was originally designed. That choice should never have been taken away.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 16: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Latest in each market: best PL #42, worst DE #100 · 7 markets collected
Of the 2 markets with a position on both sides, 2 climbed and 0 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I beat this game literally days after release. The opening prologue with Spike was one of the best parts of the story and world building, it was emotional and atmospheric bridge for everyone who played Dying Light 1. Techland recently deleted the entire sequence just to "streamline" the game for people who can't handle 30 minutes of world-building. Stripping away actual artistry and lore when a "Skip Prologue" button already existed. You permanently downgraded the product I bought day one. Unbelievable.
I completely understand why there is an 35% completion rate. If you enjoyed the first DL, you might like this one. If the first dying light was around 80/100 this would be lukewarm 68/100 game. It feels bland, unfinished and it is full of bugs and it is cheesy af. Instead of fixing them it feels that live service feels more lucrative. I can't count how many times I felt annoyed playing this game, might even be every single session. Hit boxes, parkour fails, the game feels like it was made for consoles first, I feel that this game tries to waste your time in every corner to prolong the game(Cannot dismantle multiple items at once and each takes multiple seconds for example), even had to restart the whole game due a game breaking bug after +80h. I am just glad it is over. It is not all bad, it has good ideas and I had some fun with the combat. DLC was fun, mostly. It still lacks the impact and feeling of the first game.
I cant recommend this game to anyone due to the cut content, the sheer amount of cut content. I doubt techland will make the game they intended later down the line, but its painful to like this game and know it could of been more, could of been what it was supposed to be.
First of all.. Bring back the prologue! If you're a first-time player, go and watch a video of the original prologue, up until the point of him spending the night at the cabin, the current shortened intro starts from there. The devs cut out a considerable amount of context and world building from the beginning of the game for some weird reason.. I feel like I was robbed of a proper introduction to the game, who we are and what our goal is. I recommend the game, but it's not an enthusiastic recommendation like it would be for the 1st game. However, if you enjoyed the 1st game and want more of the same, buy it (on sale), it IS still fun, albeit more buggy here and there (mostly not game breaking, just a little frustrating). You'll feel a difference in movement in the beginning, but once you're used to that, it is not a problem. Also the skills system is a little weird, feels like they downgraded him just to have a reason to give him upgrades. The story writing is pretty bad, there's plot holes and narrative pieces the devs just glossed over, giving Aiden selective amnesia, questionable intelligence and the attention span of a goldfish. Don't expect much. He does have good voice acting though. I miss Kyle. ;c !! Co-op has no story progression sharing, but if you plan on playing it together with your friend(s) from start to finish anyway, then it doesn't really matter, most of the achievements are still acquired regardless of your personal save file progression (yes, including story ones, but achievements can be temperamental sometimes and not pop up, both singleplayer and co-op) and you keep all the items and upgrades (minus story related special tools). You can still acquire a crossbow from PKs even as the co-player, it's just not instant unlock, it seems to be moody with regards to when it gets delivered to you. It's kind of a mess in places, but the gameplay is still a fun experience, especially with (a) friend(s).
They changed the plot by removing the intro, if corpos can do stuff like this then what is the point of telling a story detail that gets removed by an update for no good damn reason other than to "Save time", Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ move along with adding Fortnite-esc multiverse slop for only the sake of money.. You will own nothing and will be happy.
