Astonishingly disappointing. The timeless greedy developer error of appealing to both the old audience and the young new audience and failing to please either of them. You had an essentially flawless game in dungeons 3, both in graphics and gameplay, then threw away all the bits that made it challenging and fun to appeal to the new audience and so lost the old audience. Then the new audience doesn't find it interesting because it's now too easy... You have a huge variety of creatures, (Nothing particularly new and exciting) and now they don't have any jobs in the dungeon? What on earth is the point of the dungeon then, you just have the snots do everything! Might as well go play an actual RTS with base building since the traps are rubbish now too, so many bizarre choices. Just play dungeons 3 and hope Kalypso doesn't release another cash grab and goes back to the golden formula of 3.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Constant harrassment with timed missions takes much of the fun of dungeon building away. Not the experience I want out of a dungeons game.
After playing Dungeons 3 and really enjoying that game I figured Dungeons 4 would hit home. While I would still recommend this game as an above average experience it was not as good as its predecessor.
Its way worse than Dungeons 3 in every way besides maybe graphics. It performs worse, its way more tedious and repetitive and I could go on but I wont.
Too much Warcraft - not enough Dungeon Keeper
Just get Dungeons 3 instead, it's mechanically better in every possible way. Basically everything they've changed from 3 is mainly for the worse, adding gratuitous micro management without really offering any benefits in return. For instance, while in 3 you could manage to build a dungeon that can't be conquered in the campaign missions, in 4 the health of the waves scale infinitely and quickly. They start off on even footing with your units, around 200 hitpoints, but before long they have over 3000 hitpoints each and it never stops going up until you simply CAN'T kill them no matter the dungeon and army. For reference, traps do about 30-40 damage, don't scale and require constant repairs that can't get done because they're going to be behind the unkillable hero waves so your snots can't get to them to repair them even if they weren't useless.
