Great game, highly recommended. Though DLCs lack meaningful content, you're better off getting Dungeons 4 instead of those if you haven't yet.
Fun little Dungeon Keeper like game. Had more fun with the 3 dungeons then dungeons 2 which was a pleasant surprise.
Yes, it's 2025 and yes, I'm still recommending this game. Took me back to my old WCIII days in the funniest way possible! I'd give it a perfect 5/7 score!
This time you are the "bad" guy | KAMGUSTA's MINI REVIEW If you don't know the "Dungeons" franchise, it's a blend of city (dungeon) building, real time strategy and tower defense genres. Similar to the old "Dungeon Keeper" games, you have to build and "manage" a Dungeon, protecting it from invading "heroes". This time, you can use your evil hero and dark minions to explore the outside World (rendered in a very similar way to the game "Warcraft"). Your ultimate goal is to help the "Ultimate Evil" conquer the World. A sarcastic omnipresent narrator describes all your actions (voice over), with humorous references to pop culture and the very same "Dungeon Keeper" and "Warcraft" games. It's a nice improvement on "Dungeons 2" in every aspect (graphics, gameplay, variety) and everything feels polished. As you have to manage a lot of different things at the same time it can be a little overwhelming in late levels, but it's never unfair. I had a great time with it. Dunno what it is about this game but I got hooked really fast. Love the humor and references, the overall gameplay is great, but very aggravating at times when you feel you've done everything right and you still get overwhelmed. A few achievements are just amazingly annoying to get, I had to save scum a bunch of them. DLC difficulty spike is there but if you've learned the systems for the game well enough you just have to sort of retool your strategies from the main campaign to adapt to them, they definitely try new things in the DLC maps and it stays interesting. Definitely recommended for anyone who gets fixated on base building.
great game, though balancing is a bit off sometimes and some achievements are pretty difficult (especially the speedrun ones). thalya is a great addition to the series! overall, i think 2 was more fun, but this game is still at least an 8/10! definitely reccomend!
This game is fantastic in every possible way! You are Thalya, the adopted, and evil, daughter of Tanos. Your job is to replace the good in the world with bad. Your home is an underground dungeon full of "little snots" who work in the dungeon, digging for gold and mana. As they dig, you have them build the rooms you need such as a graveyard, for your evil creatures to go when they die, a chicken coop so they have food, and of course a treasury room for all the gold the little snots dig up. The good people from the overworld will come down to your dungeon so it's a good idea to build traps. Spikes that pop up from the floor, or arrows that shoot out of walls, and even rolling boulders to crush your enemies are a few of the traps you'll build. However many games have similar mechanics, what sets Dungeons III ahead of those games is the interaction between the narrator and Thalya. They are both aware they're in a game, and poke fun at each other and the game itself. The narrator isn't there to help you so much as keep you entertained. The graphics are vibrant and very well done, and still look great on "average" hardware. It's strictly isometric.I'd call it a mix of fairy tale meets WarCraft III. The battles your evil creatures have with the good people aren't too hard, unless you select "hellish." Each chapter (at least that I've completed so far) take about an hour but you can easily spend much much longer if you want to build out the ultimate evil dungeon! The game is heaps entertaining, so even if you're not winning you're still having a fun time.
