I would have recommended this game, except some time ago they added a stupid kalypso launcher that has broken my game. The launcher's only purpose (and something steam needs to ban) is to give you ads for their other games. But for me, it breaks my game and I can no longer play it. I've tried all the fixes online and none of them work. I can't bypass the launcher, no matter what I do, even if I sign into the launcher and hit play, it starts to launch the game, fails, and reopens the launcher (or tries to relaunch the game if I'm bypassing the launcher). If I could refund the game I would, because I can't play it anymore
I'll post my main gripe upfront - if you hate tryhard, cringey millennial humour and constant references to various movie/TV/game franchises without an ounce of originality, don't buy this game. I had it on my Steam wishlist for years and finally decided to drop a few pennies on it one day when it went on sale. And while I do love the gameplay, the narrator and the main character constant meme-y and unoriginal reference humour really, really put me off. Christ! Make it stop! One or two would have been tolerable, but it's the only kind of humour this game has. It's like being stuck in endless Channel Awesome rerurns. Which is a real pity because, as I already mentioned, the gameplay is very good if you liked Dungeon Keeper back in the day. If somehow you can stomach the cringe, then you might get something out of this.
Dungeons 3

DLC «Once Upon a Time» до битвы с пиратами-зомби в «Evil of the Caribbean».

⚠️Potenzielle Triggerpunkte!⚠️

Spinnen und spinnenartige Gegner

🎮Gameplay🎮

Dungeons 3, developed by Realmforge Studios and published by Kalypso Media, is a well-crafted blend of real-time strategy and dungeon management that builds upon the series’ legacy with a richer narrative and refined gameplay mechanics. Players step into the shoes of the Dungeon Lord, a dark overlord intent on conquering the overworld by expanding his subterranean empire and commanding a variety of sinister minions. The game cleverly merges the tactical depth of managing an underground lair with the action-packed intensity of controlling armies on the surface, creating a satisfying balance between base-building and real-time combat. The game’s core loop revolves around two interconnected layers: the dungeon itself and the overworld battlefield. Within the dungeon, players construct rooms like treasure vaults, torture chambers, and spawning pits, all while managing resources and recruiting minions with unique abilities. This aspect demands strategic planning to create an efficient and defensible base that can sustain prolonged battles. Above ground, the gameplay shifts into a real-time strategy format where you command your forces against invading heroes, rival factions, and other threats. This dual perspective keeps the gameplay fresh, as players must master both the micro-management of their minions’ tasks and the macro-management of battlefield tactics. Dungeons 3 also introduces new narrative elements through the character of Thalya, a dark elf sorceress who leads the campaign alongside the Dungeon Lord. This storyline injects humor and personality into what could otherwise be a straightforward strategy game. The voiceover narration is laced with sarcasm and wit, adding charm and levity to the dark fantasy setting. The single-player campaign offers around 20 missions that gradually ramp up in complexity, featuring a mix of procedural and handcrafted levels that keep the experience engaging. Additionally, the inclusion of randomly generated missions and a two-player cooperative mode broadens the game’s replayability, allowing friends to join forces in their quest for absolute evil domination. Visually, the game embraces a vibrant and stylized fantasy aesthetic that effectively contrasts the gloomy underground with the colorful overworld. Each environment is richly detailed, filled with animated traps, environmental hazards, and lively characters that enhance immersion. The unit designs range from grotesque demons to quirky goblins, all rendered with a consistent art style that balances humor with menace. Complementing the visuals is an atmospheric soundtrack that adapts to the gameplay, punctuating moments of tension with dramatic scores and easing into lighter tunes during base-building phases. While Dungeons 3 does not reinvent the genre, it excels by polishing the core elements fans love about dungeon simulators and real-time strategy games. The gameplay is accessible enough for newcomers yet deep enough to satisfy veterans, striking a balance that keeps players invested throughout its lengthy campaign. The strategic depth of dungeon customization combined with the tactical combat above ground creates a unique rhythm that encourages creative problem-solving and adaptive playstyles. In summary, Dungeons 3 stands out as a strong and entertaining entry in the dungeon management and strategy genre. Its combination of witty storytelling, robust gameplay systems, and engaging visuals makes for an immersive experience that appeals to both longtime fans of the series and newcomers alike. Though it may not break new ground, the game’s execution and attention to detail make it a rewarding and enjoyable adventure into the dark arts of dungeon domination. Whether managing minions below or battling heroes above, Dungeons 3 provides a rich, layered experience full of strategic depth and humor. Rating: 9/10
A great game for people that don't like RTS games. Let me explain: I don't like RTS games, generally. Especially when you play against other people. Being rushed to go down the memorized checklist of things as fast as possible to make the optimal build... not to mention the crazy toxicity of DOTA and League... it ain't for me. So, it's rare when an RTS game hooks me. Dungeons 3 is one of those unicorn RTS games that's pulled me in. (For reference, the last 'proper' RTS to do that for me was Warcraft III back in the mid-2000s... I'm old...) I haven't played it on multiplayer, and certainly never will. But, the single-player experience has been pretty fun so far. Nothing too challenging, which I personally appreciate as someone that's pretty inexperienced at RTS. But, if you're big into RTS games, I can see how this game might be too basic. There is a lot of chatter with the narrator and main character. I love the Stanley Parable, so this kind of humor is great for me. But, if you don't care for it, you can shut them up in the options menu. The only flaws I can think of are with the onboarding. Even though this is a pretty newbie-friendly game, it still seems to make the assumption that you have some familiarity with RTS games or the older Dungeon Keeper games. It's hard to remember back, but I think Warcraft III had really simple, step-by-step tutorials. Basic things like selecting units and moving them. The tutorials in this game are MUCH less clear. Another flaw is it seems to be pretty siloed into a specific kind of build. I've naturally found a really good army composition that works for me... and I haven't really deviated from it. Mostly because it never seems necessary unless it's a part of the story. So, you know? I like it. It's not going to change my opinion of RTS overall. But, I'm glad there are a few that hook me. I'd say buy it.
I've played through all of dungeons 3 and all of dungeons 4. I found 3 to be significantly more enjoyable than 4, primarily in gameplay. In 4 there's not enough synergy to justify having units from multiple factions, the units don't work in the dungeon so there isn't much use for them outside of fighting, the evilness system in 4 is not nearly as enjoyable as it is in 3. The improvements to graphics is negligible at best, nonexistent at worst. The Voice acting and story are as good as they ever were. The only thing I wish 3 had that 4 does have is custom maps. That's the ONLY thing about 4 that I thought was better than 3. In every metric that I care about, dungeons 3 is better, and I wish that whatever comes after dungeons 4 is a return to the formula perfected in 3.
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕟𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕣 𝕚𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕠 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪!
Dungeons 3 is a wickedly entertaining real-time strategy and dungeon management game developed by Realmforge Studios. It’s the third (and probably the best) installment in the series, combining sharp humor, chaotic combat, and devilish creativity into a darkly funny experience that appeals to both strategy fans and anyone with a taste for satire. You play as the Absolute Evil, a sarcastic and self-aware villain who commands hordes of goblins, demons, and undead creatures. Unlike the same "EVIL" entity from the second game, you can now command ALL the evil creatures at once. Meaning, you don't have to be the UNDEAD evil to command hordes of undead creatures... Nor do you have to be a DEMONIC evil to command the forces of the demonic realm... No. The absolute evil is just content with its own self, now commanding over ALL evil forces that ever lived... or unlived, I guess. The campaign is surprisingly long, packed with missions that vary in objectives and humor. The narrator—an essential part of the Dungeons series—constantly breaks the fourth wall, making fun of video game clichés, pop culture, and even your own mistakes... This gives Dungeons 3 a distinct comedic charm that few strategy games even attempt, however, the game is quite familiar if you've already played the previous entries. Visually, the game looks vibrant and cartoonish, with detailed dungeon environments and colorful spell effects. The controls are smooth, and the interface feels more refined than in previous entries. Sometimes, throwing your creatures out of bounds glitches the game out, but it's really not game-breaking. That said, Dungeons 3 isn’t perfect. The AI can be clumsy at times... Stumbling heroes that get stuck into your dungeon walls are always such a sight for sore eyes, after hours of micromanaging your IQ-lacking creatures inside your dungeon. The humor, while clever, seems to be played out and outliving its use... I mean I'd understand the funny cliché busting narrator, but the thing is I've played ALL Dungeon games... So, the humor most of the time was lost on me. The game is still a top-notch RTS, which alternates between simulation and RTS in a weird way no other game does. 9/10
