I've been amazed at the amount of content/depth to this game. I'm a big fan of life sims and really enjoyed how much interaction with townsfolk/random events there are. The fact this is achieved with the whole game being based in just one town is pretty darn good. The dungeon diving can get a bit repetitive and grindy but getting to certain floors of the dungeon triggers new events/dialogue/quests etc and very random things can happen on any floor so it keeps it entertaining enough. You have big choices to make in quests and these choices also have a huge impact on the town and the characters that live there so you really have a lot of reign to shape the town. The characters themselves are all interesting in their own way (some are just plain nuts haha) and I found myself having a good laugh at some of the interactions. There is quite a lot of classes/skills to explore and you and your companions can swap around these freely, mixing and matching skills. For the amount of content, the price of this game is brilliant.
I played this game for quite a long time and i think it's the good time to talk a bit about it. I actually recommend this game and i know that it's doesn't look that good when we look at the page on steam. It's not gorgeous and it's a game made on Rpg maker(i think,i'm not a expert) But when we play it and understand how many thing there is in the game. You stay on it until you discover everything.Friendship,rivality,love,event.I loved it so much than when i finished the game,i started a new game with a new class to see what new event i can get. the gameplay is really basic and look like every RPG you can play(it's a good and a bad thing). You have to explore a dungeon and near this dungeon is a town full of interesting characters. When you explore the town after a exploration of the dungeon, you will discover new event, quest or work. You will also build new place with new character. I love the fact that some thing change if you do or fail some quest. Some character will hate you. Some will love you and i also had two friend who started a relationship after they started to hate me. there is quite a lot of content and I'm glad i played it (sorry for my English,i'm not that good and i don't want to spend more than ten minutes writing this...i'm quite lazy so sorry for the mistakes I made)
This is essentially an addendum to my review of the male protagonist game. If you haven't played the default Male Protagonist game and are trying to choose between the two, I suppose the biggest difference is who you have for romance options. The Male version gives you 8 female romance options, while the Female version gives you 4 male and 4 female options (granted, the best waifu is in both games). If you have your heart set on choosing from a larger variety of female romances (and why you would want to give yourself 7 chances to end up with not-the-best waifu I have no idea), then the Male version wins hands-down. If you really want your main character to be a female and experience getting hit-on a lot, then you can start with the Female version. If you've already played the Male version, you've probably noticed that after clearing the base game, you can do a new game+ and keep a bunch of gold or levels to help you as you replay it and explore some alternative quest endings and decisions. I think replaying the game at least once is worth it, but doing it with a new game+ file is likely to be boring and unbalanced (apparently you can even miss content if you power clear the dungeon too fast). So, if you're going to replay it anyways, I would recommend supporting the developer and grabbing the Female Protagonist version since it does add some new dialogue and a few new minigames to make a second playthrough a little more interesting.
Having a lot of fun playing this game. Actually im in my second run, im trying make some things happen, that i didint get on my first try I really love the style, the story, the dungeon and characters. The drawn art is horrible, but the game will entretain you so much that you will get over it This time (i think) i will succeed dating a male character... cause the females wants date you even against your will, you dont need do nothing: all girls will hit on you, since your fist day until the last one (except for Caecily)... i really would love for the guys to do the same...
Very nice rpg with good mechanics. Has really a lot of contents... many classes and specializations... a plot which advances with time and reaching checkpoints... has romances... crafting and economy... and Musa is the hottest \m/_
a really nice made story and game itself. even if the pictures are not perfect but the rest is nice i would appreciate a dungeon dream 2 you have many ways to end the story even more than you have saveplaces xD it is definitly worth it to play for all dungeon gamer and for all who like stories for me this game is a must have. signed, Maelyija
Wow, I am now a little bit over 55 hours of gameplay with this fantastic game. Here is what I can say with my current experience. *Combat* : The combat is challenging and fun. You will enjoy unlocking dozens of different skills and going back to some class choices to add permanent bonuses and implement strategic abilities. As you advance toward the pinnacle of your training, you carry over the skills you acquired from previous classes. *Storyline* : There are plenty of scenaristic possibilities, all depending on your answers to questions, interactions with various allies and NPCs. Your connections with the inhabitants of Ecallia will grow and unfold accordingly to your choices during dialog. Some individuals may stay in town, some others may leave if they find there is nothing much left for them to gain. The feeling of freedom and discovery is incredible. A lot of effort was put into the choices the player can make. *Romance and Dating* : The romance system is very surprising and interesting. It is largely superior to the one presented in ''Azure Dreams'' on Playstation 1. Your daily life and busy schedule in the game might make you think twice about your dating choices. If you are organized and have sufficient time on your hands, you can get to know 3 or 4 possible partners in a deeper way. There are more than 10 characters to romance- lots of possibilities. Everything you say or do has an effect on your relationships with others. Get to know your significant other through a various set of dialogues and questions. You can earn intimacy points by being nice to your significant other, increasing the strength of your bond with him/her. Marriage is possible ! This is something that actually surprised me a lot !! *Town building* : Your active participation in the town's economy and your joined efforts with the carpenter will unlock multiple beneficial features, scenaristic elements and functionalities. Respect your commitment to the citizens of Ecallia for a few surprises. Fans of Azure Dreams, Time Stalker, Dark Cloud, or any rogue-like dungeon crawlers will have something to get their teeth into !!
Pretty fun, ending petered out though as certain plot threads finished up and characters reached the end of their content. Excited for DD2 to leave early access, this was impressive and the dev's made 2-3 games since Some really interesting plot threads, more reactions than you'd think, and personable characters.
