Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

dragon quest
Got as far as the throne room and found al the red color just bled out across everything and looked bad. From looking online this is normal for the pc version of the game. Otherwise a beautiful game, but I think I'll give it a try on ps5 instead.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 3: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D is the best official way to play a legendary classic today thanks to its beautiful HD-2D visuals, smart quality-of-life options, and a still-excellent core JRPG design built around party creation and class experimentation. It’s ideal for players who want an authentic old-school adventure with some modern conveniences. However, as a remake it feels too conservative—random encounters, slow pacing, and dated menus remain, making it feel closer to a polished remaster than a true modernization.
Pros:
+ Timeless Core Game Design: The original DQIII structure is still fantastic, with strong exploration, memorable twists, and a satisfying “hero’s quest” that holds up remarkably well. + Excellent Class System: Building a custom party from multiple jobs and later reclassing at level 20 (keeping part of stats/skills) creates tons of build variety and long-term strategy. + HD-2D Visual Upgrade: The remake’s presentation significantly enhances the atmosphere and makes the world far more enjoyable to revisit or discover. + Difficulty Options for All Players: Three difficulty modes include a standard challenge, an extreme mode for hardcore players, and an easier mode that prevents death for those who want the story. + Infinite Inventory Convenience: Removing strict inventory limits cuts down frustration and eliminates constant item management from the older experience. + Optional Objective Markers: The map can indicate where to go, and it’s toggleable—perfect for players who want guidance without forcing it on those who want the original feel. + Improved EXP Pacing: Higher experience gains reduce grind and make it easier to access tools that help manage encounter-heavy areas. + Monster Wrangler Addition: A new, remake-exclusive class that supports monster recruiting and arena play, adding a fresh progression path and useful abilities. + Strong Auto-Battle AI: The tactics AI plays intelligently, prioritizing metal enemies, using high-accuracy options, buffing when appropriate, and adapting well to magical threats. + Dungeon Map Availability: Having maps accessible at any time makes labyrinths less painful and supports more comfortable exploration. + Quick Menu Quality-of-Life: Assigning spells/actions to a fast-access menu saves time and makes frequent utility use much smoother. + Day/Night and Real-World-Inspired World Map: Time-based NPC/event changes and recognizable geography add flavor, discovery, and a unique sense of place.
Cons:
- Remake That Doesn’t Modernize Enough: It largely preserves the original structure and friction points, adding improvements that feel too small to justify a full remake identity. - Random Encounter Frustration: Encounter frequency remains close to the original, and even with battle speed-up it still feels slow—visible enemies or stronger encounter controls would’ve helped massively. - Dated UI and Navigation: Infinite inventory is great, but menus and interface flow still feel old, missing the dynamic polish expected from modern remakes. - Inconsistent Voice Acting Presence: Only key scenes are voiced, and replaying dialogue may remove voice lines, making the feature feel oddly uneven. - Limited Camera Control: Not being able to move/adjust the camera can make reading the environment harder when you want to scout or inspect areas. - Maps Don’t Highlight Chests: Dungeon maps help with navigation, but completion still requires heavy searching; treasure hunting often depends on the thief’s detection skill. - Shallow Party Characterization: The remake skips party banter/comment systems seen in other Dragon Quest titles, leaving companions as generic as they were in the original. - Not Much New Content Depth: Monster arena, secret areas, and collectibles are welcome, but the overall content feels very close to older versions (like SNES), including limited post-game expansion. - Weak Value for Money if You’ve Played Older Versions: Since most greatness comes from the original game design, players short on budget can get a very similar experience from earlier releases. - Music Can Feel Repetitive: Orchestrated tracks sound nice, but the soundtrack’s scope reflects its 1988 origins, which can lead to repetition over long playtimes.
Final Rating: B
*Rating from lowest to highest: C, B, A, S.*
Classic JRPG. Great story and adventure. If you dont like this one go back to CoD.
Great remake, very cozy.
good game
Pretty good, but you will probably have a hard time liking it if you don't really vibe with NES RPG game design. If you don't mind / like that, then you will like probably like it.
Bão demais!
What an amazing game! Performance wise, no issues, slowdowns, crashes nothing. It was very smooth. Great story, accessible gameplay, very rewarding exploration, overall fantastic experience. Perfect start to the Erdrick trilogy. Happy to see Dragon Quest get the western popularity it deserves.
