Dragon Detective: A Friend from the Shadows

interesting mysteries and world. charming characters and writing. the concept of using your senses including *taste* is funny but works well. only issue is the motivation for the second case is kind of weak in some areas [spoiler] viola could literally just draw the blackmail picture again no? she's the *artist* [/spoiler] and you can get softlocked. Read some of the cases of this happening on the forums and experienced one myself. One of the evidence I needed to present wasn't in my journal for the second case and it was late into the case. So I had to redo the chapter again to that point. Very solid detective game that scratched the ace attorney itch (and the very inspired and sick OST)

Excellent. Although the story is divided into 4 different cases, the end result isn't nearly as episodic as I thought it might be. The worldbuilding does a solid job at exploring the politics of Rivulette, specifically when it comes to war and the draft, and also anti-dragon sentiments. Each case is filled with great characters, from the main man himself, Noxley, to lovable recurring characters like [spoiler]Roy and Chuckles (I mean really, how can you not love Chuckles!)[/spoiler]. Some moments didn't work as well as the rest for me, and there were a few deductions that didn't make sense either, but overall the detective work and plot twists were enough to keep me invested the whole time. This game didn't feel like 15 hours at all, and by the end of it I would've been happy if the cases had just kept going. A sequel maybe, someday? I'll keep an eye out for it. This is the perfect game for fans of Roman's Christmas, and vice versa. Furry detective games are turning out to be a great niche.

A great visual novel/mystery game in the spirit of Ace Attorney with some real heft to its world and characters! Highly reccomended to lovers of the genre.

Amazing Story about a [spoiler]isolationist Country[/spoiler] in which you play as a Detective, moving up from solving simple Murders to [spoiler]State Secrets[/spoiler]

Solid soundtrack, solid story that concludes well, not too difficult A fun spin on the very well trodden ground of murder mysteries, wouldn't mind a follow up

A very good Ace Attorney inspired VN, where nothing is quite as black and white as one is used to from the genre...

None of the cases are worth playing.

This filled my ace investigations hole left after completing the games. It's so good, pick this up!

An Ace Attorney like in a setting that mixes the early industrial area with a bit of magic and is populated by anthropomorphic animals. A nice escalation curve in terms of difficulty (although the game never becomes too difficult) and the case stakes. The writing is good overall and the ending is solid but there are a few bits that feel off. The phrasing can be a little unclear in places in terms of indicating what the next required piece of evidence is. To provide a spoiler-free example, there is a spot in the fourth case where the game could be asking for the murder weapon or the cause of death and both pieces of information are available as possible answers. An occasional ambiguity aside, I enjoyed the game a lot and I am hoping for a sequel, in the same setting if possible and if not, at least with the same mechanics.

Furry Ace Attorney. Loved the world-building and raw satisfaction of the clues falling into place. Characters were fleshed out and the music is pretty good. A delightful experience.
