Amazing game with a very cool setting and story, I hope they make more Doom games in this kind of style, medieval but also techy at the same time. 100% would recommend.
Pura testosterona en vena.
Good time all-round
From a massive fan of the franchise: Doom Eternal is easily one of my all-time favorite games. I honestly struggled a bit at first with the slower, more grounded combat style of The Dark Ages. But as I spent more time with it, I grew to really appreciate how thoughtfully the developers crafted new mechanics. And then Revelations comes along and absolute steals the show. I haven’t had this much fun with a shooter in a very long time. The gameplay in the DLC is nothing short of fantastic and, in my opinion, actually manages to top Eternal. It makes it all the more heartbreaking that M$ laid off so many people from such an incredible studio. For me, id Software has always been the ultimate gold standard for buttery-smooth FPS gameplay. I really hope there will be more games in the future.
YES
Very fun game, many years since i played a doom game, but this one was breath taking for me, cool story and the graphics are supernice esp in 4k 10/10 points from me
The base game is allright. BUT HOLY MOLY THE DLC... It has it all, the 10/10 Music, one of the best combat ever with the spear and a sick story. So if you want to buy this, you have to get the dlc too. ITS A MUST.
Base game: Power trip is at its best when the slayer feels like a heavy mech himself. The pounding footsteps and the supershotgun BOOM are addictive. Great atmosphere - would have liked it turned up even more. It's a flawed great game.
10/10
This game was good before the DLC. Some would say not as good as DOOM Eternal. I can kinda see why some think that way since the combat is very different. I liked both games equally, for different reasons. Eternal had the very fast paced combat, with dashes, doublejumps, meathook swings, And it was alot about momentum and precision. The Dark Ages is all about the grounded gameplay with parry timings and it has some fantastic boss fights compared to Eternal. With the new DLC they added, it is without a doubt the best version of DOOM that we have had so far. The main thing that makes me say this is the Chain spear, and the upgrades you will eventually unlock with it. The spear has taken the best things from DOOM Eternals combat and brought it into this game, which means you now have fast paced combat from Eternal, mixed with all the cool new elements of The Dark Ages. This gives the game a completely new feel and gives you sooooo many options for how you fight. The game doesnt force you to choose either the spear or the shield, later in the game it actually encourages you to strategically switch between them mid fights, for different scenarios, which is incredibly satisfying to learn. The difficulty of the DLC is perfectly adjusted for the power of the spear, And the whole campaign + Endgame has just waaaay better design than the base game, which was also good. No boring flying sections, just pure pure non-stop adrenaline. If you liked the base game here, but were missing some of the pace from Eternal, then this is a must play.
