黑暗纪元本体:嗨嗨嗨,大运来了! DLC:嗨嗨嗨,喜欢我永恒的肉钩吗孩子?
I think this was a great game, classic Doom with a cool middle ages twist. Before I talk about the positives my biggest issue with the game was the chapter system. They break the whole game up into chapters and after each chapter give you a run-down of all the items you got and your completion percentage for the chapter. I don't like this in any game honestly but especially in a Doom game this was a really crazy bad choice. It's Doom, let me get into it and run around and shoot demons, don't break the flow with chapters. I don't mind breaking the game into chapters for replayability purposes, but just keep the game going. The amount of times I would finish a level and a really cool cutscene happens and I'm all excited to keep playing then boom "chapter complete" just ruins the immersion. I'm like 99% sure Doom 2016 didn't do this so idk why they decided to do it now. Anyway onto the positives. Some kinda spoilers ahead but nothing too crazy. I liked the shield a lot. Loved how it was also a buzz-saw and the shield throw was fun. The parry mechanic was also awesome I really liked that addition. The weapon's were cool, would've liked to see them do some more unique ones which they did, but they also just did the standard energy guns, rocket launcher, shotgun (ngl I did love the shotgun though). The two new gameplay modes were the dragon and the giant mech suit. The dragon was pretty cool I liked flying around, however I was kinda hoping to fly over groups of enemies and breathe fire on them. The dragon had an auto-lock/strafe mode which was very lame and I didn't like at all. The mech suit was better, was kinda like boxing and you had to dodge to keep up your "charge" so you could do big attacks. I do love a giant mech and they cooked with the design. Minor spoilers here. I didn't expect them to have Cthulhu in this game, and the kinda eldritch dimension area that followed was very cool and a good change of scenery I didn't expect. Something I really wanted was a big sword as one of the melee weapons, I was fully expecting to pull a sword out of a stone. I think you got one in Doom Eternal though which I haven't played so I guess fair enough. Overall I really liked it, would've been way better without the chapter system though. Would definitely reccommend regardless
excelente! no decepciona es Doom en estado puro un poco mas lento que eternal pero igual de satisfactorio, recomendado.
Doom The Dark Ages is not the Rip & Tear third iteration of the new DOOM series. The gameplay is vastly different from run & gun to Block, Parry, shoot, stun, repeat. I found the gameplay loop to be right up my alley though - I loved everything about it. The power fantasy is still via jumping, doing finishers, etc. I would definitely pick up this game if you loved the first two. I however was not fond of the Revelations DLC. They did a complete 180 on that style of gameplay loop. I was so entrenched with the shield combat I couldn't care less about the new spear gameplay loop. The story was ok. Not sure why they had the flashbacks for the Slayer. Felt forced and just thrown in for the f of it.
