super good
Thought about it and wish I could recommend this game but it's literally micro-management hell. Was thinking about how many campaigns I started and realized I never really completed any of them. The gameplay loop isn't fun, it's more tedious than anything. Playing around with all the units and all the different pretender gods is really fun but doesn't make up for the gameplay.
Love this series. Deepest strategy out there. If only UI, would get some improvement... Anyway, thanks for the Linux support!
10/10
great alltime game
Surprisingly good 4x game with deep mechanics. I was bored and bought it on a heavy discount at a whim with no real expectations and it completely hit me out of nowhere.
Don't be turned away by the dated graphics. This is an extremely cool game with a surprisingly deep magic system and a bunch of different gods and factions, each with their own mythology-inspired themes and lore. I'm a huge fan of the European-ish nations like Avalon, but the weirder ones like Agartha (underground blind trolls) and Lemuria (zombie Rome) are also neat. I never liked auto-resolved battles with pre-set commands until Dominions 4 forced me to like it at gunpoint. The vanilla maps aren't great, but there are some really incredible maps on the Workshop. Overall 10/10 would conquer the world as a sentient fountain of blood again.
Horror marks are not fun. They should at least be optional in sp. Otherwise it's a great game.
