Game should state that it cant be played offline. after 3 days offline you will get message to connect to steam server and game will crash to desktop until you do. DRM. Dumb retarded and moronic.
Online DRM required every few hours. Can't play offline. Insane.
Buyer beware! Game is abandoned, the latest features are in the beta.
Deity Empires = Might of Magic (on steroids) + Age of Wonders + Dominions
Repetitive game filled with bugs and memory leaks. If we add an enormous lack of interest by developers to help or solve any of the problems that are being reported for several years now can only suggest to get away from this title. Take a look at the discussion channel and you will find that a vocal minority will discredit any bug report posted even if the same bug has been posted consistently throughout the years by several players. Buy at your own peril I surely do not recommend it.
Sadly, abandoned.
At first glance, you might think to play this as a civilization game - build your cities to destroy your opponents. Forget that. Dragons. Research spells to summon dragons. Clear dungeons to level dragons. Build your cities to make tons of money and mana. Why? Dragons are expensive. Hire heroes and level them up to train your dragons. Defeat the other empires so they can't shoot down your dragons. That's probably the most fun I've had in this game. Don't try to play this game as it seems intended - you gotta find your own fun.
I want to like it, I have fun while playing, there is a lot here, but there the more I play the more I realize how still incomplete it is. While its true, its everything you should basically want in a fantasy civ game. Fantasy civ for one which is rare enough, rpg mechanics, complex spell tree, unique tech tree, and in-depth economy. It really does seem to have everything and from what amounts to just one or two people working on it too. Or... at least they use to work on it. While its damn impressive what was accomplished here it has seemed to have been abandoned before it could fully cross the finish line. Basic items that can't be made, resources that spawn in locations that can't be claimed or used, Prospectors that spend 100+ turns to spawn a rare mineral ON YOUR CITY which can't be used because your city doesn't count as an improvement that can harvest resources, a complex game system with little to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to explain it too you. Expect to play with the wiki open on another screen to just UNDERSTAND basic systems. It is just a really really grand picture that just starts to crack when you look too closely at it. AND YES, if this is your thing you are going to enjoy it regardless of its flaws because its awesome what is here, but the more time you sink into it the more you realize this isn't finished, this is badly implemented, this is buggy, this doesn't make sense, this stopped being fun 20 hours ago. Look, I don't want to bad month this game or to tell you you shouldn't support it if you want to try it. I just... want to cut my loses before I invest so much time into a game that will never reach its full potential. Been heartbroken too many time by that. Disciples, Fallen Enchantress, Warlock, etc. I'm out before I get attached.
A quite relaxing and meditative strategy/management fantasy game! Liked: 1) Interesting way of calculating armor and damage values (chanes + hits + strikes!) 2) Lot of campaign settings, including amazing map generation tool and adjustable city range (from zero to eight hexes!) 3) Option to disable default mouse edge-scroll (only via manual editing settings file) 4) It inherited much atmosphere from game I played long-long time age which name was Master Of Magic Not liked: 1) Icons of units are obscenely amateurish :( There are some cool units I never-ever accept in my army purely because of its un-estetic appearance (Basilisk, Moss Giant etc..). Hope creator will fix this upon release. Also, there is mod which fixes it (icons are epic, but they are gathered from across the internet, so, they aren't "genuine" withing the current game). 2) CRITICAL technical issues/bugs which prevent playing the game. That's fine to have issues in beta, but at the time of writing there is no sign of any assistance in solving those problems from the dev's side. I hope, those tech problems may be fixed but until then, I cannot recommend the game in its current state for the checkout :(
Extremely underpolished - and it seems the polish is never coming. I wanted to like this game - 4x with RPG progression, spells and crafting equip (allegedly?) - but after a 30th dungeon where I awkwardly move my units forward one by one blocked by each others backs and researching/building yet another +1% tech/improvement, I just can't force myself to try anymore.
