About
G'Day! Grab your tools, gather resources, and build your town while hanging out with friends and enjoying the charm of Dinkum.
Plant crops, raise animals, and build your dream farm, or roam the island catching fish and bugs at your own pace.
With changing seasons and weather affecting how your crops grow, every day brings a new challenge. Slip on your flip-flops to hunt for rare fish, bugs, or ores. Every moment becomes a special adventure.
From red deserts and lush forests to hidden mines, Dinkum is full of wild places to explore. Hunt wild animals, gather resources, and learn how to survive in the great outdoors.
The creatures might look cute, but don't let your guard down! You'll need tools, weapons, and a solid strategy to make it out in one piece. Will you go head-to-head, or set traps and play it smart? The choice is yours.
What starts as a simple campfire and a sleeping bag can grow into a thriving town with shops, fountains, flower beds, and windmills.
Craft furniture and decorations to personalize your home, reshape the island to design your ideal town layout, and customize your character's look from head to toe. Invite friends over to show off your one-of-a-kind creation!
Sell your harvest and foraged goods to earn Dinks, and reinvest them to help your town flourish.
As your town grows, new shops will open, visitors will stop by—and some might even decide to stay for good. Celebrate with festivals and build a vibrant, lively town, whether you're playing solo or with friends.

I adore Dinkum but it has one significant flaw that has earned this negative review: inconsistent and unstable multiplayer performance with regular disconnects. This issue has been raised by the community for years and is the cause for many of the relatively few negative reviews on Steam but as far as I can gather from reading Reddit, Steam reviews and patch notes, has never been recognised by the developer (kudos to making an otherwise great game JB <3). I got this game to play co-operatively but am now at a stage where the number of disconnects mean that I only play multiplayer when I don't mind losing progress or items. I've written some notes on when disconnects occur most often for us: - Towards the end of a day, especially when it's Late. - In a larger, more developed town, where we have built across a wider area and more map chunks appear are loaded. - During extended sessions in the Deep Mine, especially after spending a long time underground. These patterns make me wonder whether the disconnects are linked to world state synchronisation rather than connection - they have occurred on two wired LAN connections and on same-house Wi-Fi on multiple devices (PC/Steam Deck). Before the disconnects you can see rubber-banding type-effects where animals are sped up or slow down, or when mining/chopping you get the item drops but the rock/tree is still present, or you cannot interact with storage. It might be worth profiling network traffic, memory usage, and synchronisation events around day transitions, chunk loading/unloading, and long sessions in the mines. There may be edge cases where accumulated world state or replication updates exceed what the multiplayer session can reliably handle. I appreciate that multiplayer/netcode is difficult, especially in a game with a persistent and highly customised world, and that the game is developed by a solo dev, but at the moment disconnects occur often enough that they significantly impact the multiplayer experience.

It's like if the slow start of Animal Crossing New Horizons opened up into a town-building & adventure game instead of the more predictable, cozy gameplay loop of an Animal Crossing. Art style and sound design is charming. Plays very well on Steam Deck. Small quirks and bugs are definitely present, but there is an active discord to report in with space for suggestions. Clearly a dev team that cares, and worth your money.
Great graphics and gameplay. Great support from developer with plenty of updates to add new content.
у.й uwu
