About
Hello Miner, and congratulations on joining DEEP ROCK GALACTIC! It’s the beginning of a bright new career for you.
We’re preparing to send you and your colleagues down into the rich mines of Hoxxes IV. If you’re a hard worker, a good shot and a reliable team player, you should have respectable odds of survival.
Award-winning co-op gameplay puts 1-4 players together to explore labyrinthian procedurally-generated cave systems, extract valuable minerals, and fight for their lives against alien hordes.
Play as four unique classes:
SCOUT: The nimble wayfinder. Light the way with your flare gun, zip around with your grappling hook, and be the first to fall down a really deep hole.
GUNNER: The heavy weapons guy. Great at turning alive things into dead things, and keeping teammates safe behind his impenetrable bubble shield.
ENGINEER: The defensive support specialist. Sentry guns, land mines and 40mm grenades help you keep a secure perimeter.
DRILLER: The living bulldozer. Carve through terrain and shape the work site with your handheld drills, and solve problems using your flamethrower and C4 charges.
Each class brings their own strengths to the team. Use your toolkits in tandem and work together to bring your whole crew home safe.
Explore an endless labyrinth of procedurally-generated caves – no two missions are alike.
You’ll need to rely on your wits and your traversal tools to navigate through narrow, snaking passages and vast caverns alike. Dig into 11 distinct biomes, each with their own unique cave formations and colorful (sometimes deadly) flora and fauna.
And with 100% destructible environments, you can shape the terrain as you see fit. Dig tunnels, collapse stalagmites and close off choke points to make your job easier.
Your work in the mines will pit you against the many creatures of Hoxxes IV who don’t take kindly to your presence.
Keep your finger on the trigger, and learn to defend yourself against hordes of over 50 different enemy types, all of which are keen to bite, slash and acid-spit you to death. Some fly, some crawl, some snatch you from above and below. You’ll need to keep your wits about you, and make sure your teammates have your back.
Unlock thousands of cosmetics, weapons and player upgrades, making for hundreds of hours of gameplay as you work your way up the ranks and become a star employee.
Deep Rock Galactic features six full seasons of additional content on top of the base game, and it’s all free. No time-limited battlepasses, no FOMO shop rotations, no gated content. The only extras you can buy are a couple DLC armors.
The Deep Rock Galactic Corporation isn’t known for its benefits package. But at least there’s a bar on the Space Rig.
Enough talk – it’s time to get to work, and join millions of other motivated employees!

Holy crap. I used to love this game. Came back to try the new season, and the cave RNG is absolute garbage now. Dying on every level because there is no viable rout to the drop pod. Extremely disappointing.
ROCK AND STONE! ⛏️🍺
It's been a long time since I have played this game, but since I want to now go and review the games I have played, I'll try to keep this brief.
Gameplay
There are four classes to choose from, and I only ever played scout, as I loved his range of motion with the grappler and the gun he had was fairly good. Plus his flare gun was extremely useful to use as it was so much better than the regular flares everyone throws out. Can't say anything on the other classes, but it overall was fun trying to get as much ore as possible and killing bugs. It was also funny with all the dwarf voices and them interacting with one another(rock and stone, baby!).
Performance & Polish
Not only is the game extremely optimized in terms of storage(I forgot how much it is, maybe 4GB total), but it also is optimized performance wise. I was able to run the game on high settings in 1080p and get a solid 240fps with occasional frame drops in environments with more stuff. I believe I did use FSR for this but I feel like this game isn't too hard to run, except on a potato PC. I played this on my old custom desktop so I can't link specs here, but basically it was on a 9th gen Intel i9, an AMD RX6600, and 16GB DDR4.
Value
For $30 there is a lot of replay value for a game like this. You can progress each class and of course there is the season passes for gear, cosmetics, and such. I didn't go over a whole lot but even though I don't play this much anymore, I feel I got my money's worth out of this game. I did play a lot with friends, so it really comes down to preference if you and your friends will consistently play, or if you're good going on your own(at least from time to time). If the game is on sale, all the better.
Verdict: Would recommend.
(You are not gonna like this one) I PROFUNDLY hate this game. Get it ? Hear me out. The game could be great. The HUB, the upgrades, the community, the details, the events, I love it. As a matter of fact it's all I'm looking for in a game but this is until we start the missions. Missions aren't bad per say. The graphics are. Yeah the graphics, in any FPS when you face a wall you know where you aim (the ceiling, the floor, back, front) but not in this game. You'll need to take a few or a effin' lot of steps back to know where you are going. I blame it on the kid show color palette. Also good luck finding what's part of the maps and the poison/lava drop by the enemies. There's also a 3D map. You'd think it would be great but it's not. It look straight up taken out of Total Recall if there was a map in it (the old one). You also have a compass. Look where you are pointing, look at the map, move a little and check the compass, look at he map, not quite, move a little check the compass, check the map, yay I'm on the right direction, WALL. I also LOVE the limited amount of bullets but I know the devs wanted it this way but mew... Really, if those negatives points are not bugging you, this is a great game. But I can't. I played BAD games before but this one, I'd tell you to try it first. Thanks for hearing me vent.
