Devs abandoned the game, stay away...

unfinished, abandoned garbage

So, I'm writing this review as I'm doing some cleaning out of my steam library, uninstalling games that I haven't played in a while and am not likely to play again - and this game is definitely on the chopping block. While the game has some interesting ideas, none of them got finished, and this game is now abandonware. There's a good game in here somewhere - but that's like calling some half-cooked noodles, a stack of tomatoes, and some other stuff a well-cooked spaghetti dinner.

The bones of a roguelike deckbuilder are there but Deck Hunter has missed it's window. It might have been able to ride the Slay the Spire hype when it first came out but too little was done in almost FIVE years. Too many cards with place holder art. If the cards had been updated it might have helped. But the scope of the game was to have several different themes in an over-world map each with its own branching paths. Currently only one exists. Also now the development focus is to completely rework the game. I wish it luck.

5 years in, near silence from the solo dev. Looks like abandonware, better deck builders have come and gone.

I find some bugs, contacted the dev on email. He replied really fast, informing me he is working on refactor and was really nice and helpful

This is not a game. This is a ♥♥♥♥ and insult to roguelike games. It has a new thing called 'alchemy' which you combine 2 cards specific cards. Everytime i use alchemy i got a 'philosophy stone' which do not do anything. But it stays in the deck for no reason. So i have waste my camps where i can remove cards. Also, somehow i get purges in my deck. So i have to waste more camps for bs cards. Enemies are tanky and first boss has 2 allies. Honest question WHY??? Because boss already is a lot of hp and now spider beast gives heal and plant creature gives defenses to his team. Also, devs doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about this game too

una idea super interesante, que le da una vuelta al clasico slay the spire que tanto adoro, el juego actualmente tiene contenido que justifique el precio pero a demas el desarrollador esta trabajando en un rediseño del juego con lo que todavia va a mejorar mucho mas, lo espero con mucnas ansias!

Game got abadond. stay away

Game is very unfinished and hasn't received an update in almost a year Update 6/2025: Game hasn't received an update in 3 years. This is abandonware trash. Avoid at all costs
