数多のソウルライクを生んだ頂点であり、ライフタイムベスト1のゲーム。ムービーで語りすぎずにフレーバーテキストや世界の構造から歴史やストーリーを浮かび上がらせる手法の完成度がずば抜けている。特に深淵歩きアルトリウス周辺のお話が味わい深い。 ゲーム性としては、エルデンリングとかを経由してからプレイするとかなりモッサリ感があるのは否めないが、すぐに慣れる。不死をテーマにしたストーリーと、何度も死ぬゲーム性とのリンクが必然的で素晴らしく、篝火のシステムはその表象として美しすぎる完成度。ゲームだからこそ体験できる神話と哲学を、よくぞここまで作りこんだと思う。
