i have 300 hours in ds2 not sure why it only says 100 but thats beside the point yes its not ds1 with interconnectivity and amazing npcs yes its not ds3 with insane bosses stunning looking areas. its ds2 it has some of the most gorgeous areas, also the worst some parts suck some are so awesome they tried so many new mechanics and details its not the other games it doesn't try to be its hub is gorgeous and the npc's don't try to make you like them if you enjoyed ds1 or ds3 if you can get over thelearning curve with ds2 you will love it i promise
Ignore everything you may have heard about this game and just give it a shot
"Eu sou o Mr Dark souls 2"
Dark Souls II – A Masterclass in Frustration, Not Game Design I tried to give Dark Souls II a fair chance. I really did. After hearing years of arguments about whether the game deserves the hate it gets, I went in with an open mind, hoping to discover an underrated gem. What I found instead was one of the most frustrating and poorly balanced experiences I’ve had in gaming. The enemy placement in the later areas is not challenging in a satisfying way — it feels like a joke at the player’s expense. Rooms packed with enemies, ambushes around every corner, and constant gank fights make progress feel less like mastering combat and more like wrestling with a designer who is deliberately trying to waste your time. Difficulty should come from learning patterns, positioning, and improving your skill; here it often feels like it comes from overwhelming the player with sheer numbers and cheap setups. What makes this even worse is how inconsistent the game feels. Some areas are merely mediocre, while others suddenly turn into a parade of frustrating encounters that seem designed to punish exploration. Instead of the careful world and encounter design that FromSoftware is famous for, Dark Souls II often feels bloated and unfocused. Honestly, buying this game felt like one of the worst gaming investments I’ve made. I kept waiting for the moment where everything would click and I’d understand why some people defend it so passionately, but that moment never came. The further I got, the more I felt that the game was disrespecting my time rather than rewarding perseverance. For anyone wondering whether Dark Souls II really deserves the criticism it receives, my advice is simple: be very cautious. If your favorite part of Dark Souls is thoughtful level design, fair enemy encounters, and the feeling that every death teaches you something useful, this game may end up being a massive disappointment. I wish someone had warned me before I spent money on it. In my opinion, Dark Souls II is not a misunderstood masterpiece — it is an exhausting and often unfair experience that highlights many of the weaknesses of the Souls formula without delivering the strengths that made the other entries memorable.
