10/10 best souls game ever made
This isn't a perfect game. It has its flaws but if you give it a chance, and prove yourself to be adaptable ;) it's really fun. - Powerstancing in this game is in my opinion the best FromSoftware has ever done it, the amount of movesets you can concoct is incredible and you never get bored. - Bonfire Ascetics are a mechanic I really hope they bring back someday. - The fashion souls in this game are better than DS1 and DS3 by a country mile and I will die proudly (and fashionably) on this hill. - This game's implementation of Flynn's Ring is the best they've ever managed to make that particular ring work. - Casting speed tied to your Attunement is a choice they should really revisit. - The little additions in NG+ were a really cool direction even if not all of them were perhaps good choices. - The bosses in this game feel perhaps a little too easy, I don't feel as challenged as I would on some of them but there's plenty here that feel very rewarding to learn especially the amount of bosses that respond really well to smart strafes instead of trying to roll every attack. The levels are a mixed bag. I personally really enjoy slowly learning where each enemy in a level is, ambushing them before they can ambush me and taking my time, especially in this game where I believe the levels in between bosses are generally the bigger threat but perhaps if you need to perform many runbacks or would rather not deal with every enemy it can be tedious. On a final note, DS2 did a myriad of wonderful experiments and it makes it a different feeling game than the other entries in the souls series. Not every experiment worked, and not every mechanic is enjoyable but I think people dismiss this wonderful game far too quickly. It is unique and I think that's it's greatest strength. It rewards taking this slowly, being very mindful of your surroundings. It might not be perfect but it is very over-hated. DS2 is my Comfort Souls, the game I play when I don't want to think too hard and relax and look absolutely fabulous doing it.
this game is amazing and so beautiful, don't let anybody tell you any different!
i have finally achieved the dark soul. all achievements... i am free again... =' ) This game definitely deserves the hate it gets. If anyone disagrees with you or attempts to explain the nuances of why its actually good - politely smile and nod along with them until they leave the room, they have serious mental deficiencies. The lock-on combat system does NOT pair well with the 8 directional dead zone movement controls. This is by far my biggest complaint and its honestly so bad its hilarious. Enemies can and will hit you through the wall. Accept that. Make peace with it. It will happen. Enemy placement is god-awful, I'm looking at you Iron Keep. This issue is amplified by some of the worst boss run-backs in the franchise. *cough* *cough* BOTH SMELTER DEMONS *cough* *cough* However, it has its own charm. Its the black sheep of the franchise, but I only recommend it so you can commiserate with the rest of us <3.
Still a fun game with the flaws.
Upon completing the game. I experienced intense flickering during the credits. If only I had experienced this technical issue earlier. For example, whilst exploring Black Gulch. As the seizure was more enjoyable than playing this souls game.
Сначала ненавидел.. теперь скучаю.
