Although it was hard and very frustrating at first, I managed to discipline myself and use all the tools the game offers and my full attention. I got now 3 high level characters, one on ng+3. I learned that some areas are difficult to get through, like the Shrine of Amana or the Black Gulch, but using a bow makes these areas really funny and the result is satisfying. You have to learn that can't rush through a ganking squad because the result will be 'you died'. You need patience and a good strategy for difficult areas, if you don't have that, then maybe Dark Souls 2 is not for you. Anyway, I love this game, despite all the haters.
Its a great game but it gives the worst first impression. In many ways its easily the worst dark souls but in others it may be one of the best. Its really polarising, even for someone like myself who actually loves this game. Your enjoyment is greatly impacted by how much knowledge you have going in on what to do at the start, like for example the stat known as adaptability (ADT) Improves how good your dodge roll is. The higher the number equated to how long your invincible when didge rolling. Level the skill to 28 to have a dodge as good as dark souls 1. Another thing you need to know is which early game weapons can help you a lot (its the estoc or rapier, then another weapon like the longsword as your 2nd) and the third piece of valuable info is that estus flasks in this game aren't as good as the lifegems. Look up online which merchant sells an unlimited capacity of these items and where to find her. Finally just be patient and take your time fighting enemies that aren't the bosses. they often come in groups and will easily overwhelm if you try run through things. It may be the black sheep of the series and maybe the worst dark souls game but there is no such thing as a bad dark souls game and this game isn't an exception to the rule. 9/10
This game is genuinely good, I've heard so much hate surrounding this game and how its the worst Dark Souls in the series. While the game does have it's poor choices and experiences, it did not take away the joy I got from this game, the story and lore create an interesting and memorable experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. I played the entire base game and its DLC's, I will be going for the 100% completion in achievements. I do recommend trying the game and embracing it in its entirety.
Honestly, I don't really know why this game is hated so much. I know that the bosses aren't the best, but it's still fun to play. I really enjoyed this game. Even though when I bought this game I thought still will be a really hard challenge, but when I got a hang of the combat it became kinda eazy.

6/10 Coming from Dark Souls 1, this game feels like a step backward in terms of gameplay and mechanics, which made it more difficult and frustrating to play. It's *Dark Souls* after all, so I expected a challenge, but some of the mechanics just didn't feel as polished. About a quarter of the way through the game, I personally couldn't keep going and ended up downloading mods to make it play more like DS1. It honestly made the game a little too easy, but I'll eventually come back and give it another playthrough modless. The world itself was fun to explore, with plenty of hidden areas to discover, although it felt like there were fewer boss fights than I expected. Overall, I still think the first game is superior in many ways. On top of that, the PC optimization wasn't very well done.
