«Dark Miasma»
A Legacy-style stat-raiser that's been sadly overlooked. The basic setup is that you're caught in a timeloop, at the end of which Disaster will strike. You won't succeed in averting it the first time around, or the first couple of times, but you'll slowly explore the world and build relationships with different characters and unlock Legacy Heirlooms that will carry over into the next loop, making you stronger. There are no tough decisions to make - you're NOT going to win at first, you ARE going to get better, and there's no romance here, all the relationships are friendship and you're going to do them all eventually. Choice comes in mostly through the stat-raising and (light) deckbuilding necessary to do the RPG sections. (I say light, because I'm not good at decks, but I'm fine with this. You unlock the cards as you raise stats, it's pretty clear which ones are better and which ones work for your build.) I'm 7 hours in. I don't know how long it will take to win, but I'm enjoying my slow progress. And the characters are fun and have interesting quirks and backstories to uncover. My only real complaint is that there weren't enough music tracks so I eventually had to turn the music off because I got sick of hearing the same tune too much. I also honestly don't remember if I got this free or not sorry.

A creative game with lots of unique characters and a remarkable deck building mechanic. PROS: -Excellent characters, each with intriguing backstories and relatable struggles. -Fantastic lore with plenty of original creatures, monsters, and environments. -Addicting deck building aspect, with plenty of room for build customization. -An amazing plot full of great twists, and a truly epic finale if you can save everyone. -The "heirloom" mechanic, which allows certain things to cross over between playthroughs, is a very innovative idea. -Awesome music! -Great art, especially with respect to the character and monster design. Cons: -At the beginning, it can be a little challenging to find the best activities to do every week so that your character can survive combat: endurance training, mining+smithing for melee builds, and diving+spellweaving for magic builds. -Some characters' paths involve a dungeon that has a massive difficulty spike. -Ivan's backstory reveals an unexpectedly awful aspect of the game's society. Dark Miasma is the game for you to play if you enjoy the gameplay loop of: deck building, stat-boosting activities, and character story progression. I really recommend saving every character. If you put in the effort to do so, you will be rewarded with a VERY innovative ending.
Awesome game. I definitely reccomend it. This game has card based turn based combat. The focus is on the story. I love the way they deal with roguelike elements but also story continuation. Essentially if you get far enough and your character dies the next character starts from that point on but the previous part gets retold. It's awesome. The game also focuses on time management and increasing your stats. Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBY-O4prAsM
Very fun game. The combat system leaves lots of room to develop your own style through skill progression and combinations of different fighting techniques. The story is quite good. It kept me guessing, and I was thoroughly engrossed. The NPC's were all quite different and they were a source of many a laugh, and I really wanted to see how all their individual stories progressed.
Really enjoying this game. You die - a lot - but the whole point is that you keep being reincarnated into slightly stronger versions of yourself so each playthrough you can focus on something different and achieve different/better goals. Would highly recommend.
This game was really enjoyable and fun. Would definitely recommend. Strongest thing I'd say is the narrative, which I found to be really compelling and bold. The deck building mechanics are pretty good too. There's a lot of content and features here as well, so if you're looking for something to stream this is it. Highly recommend.
The game is engaging and the stories of the town's people are well written and keep you interested in their progress. I recommend it!
Dark Miasma is an ambitious and masterfully crafted blend of visual novel, RPG, deck builder, and time management game. In it, you play as a newcomer to the mysterious remote town of Galeport. With warning of an impending demonic attack, you must work to train your skills, earn the trust of the townspeople, and when the time comes, evacuate with as many people as you can. Mechanically, Dark Miasma is simple to pick up but offers an immense amount of depth and option for customization. Items, spells, and special attacks are all represented as collectable cards which can be found, bought, crafted, or obtained through special means, like mastery of a certain skill. In combat, you draw from decks which you build in advance from your collection of cards. Dark miasma rewards careful planning, and offers a huge variety of options. Many different monsters will be strong or weak to different types of cards, and may require specialized training to defeat. It's easy to diversify a build, though. Need more magic damage to defeat an enemy who shrugs off your purely physical attacks? Train your elemental skills and infuse your weapons with magic. Train alchemy, and create potions and poisons to give you an edge. There are hundreds of unique cards and an effectively limitless number of combinations. When you're back in Galeport, you can spend your time working jobs, training your skills, crafting cards, and getting to know the townsfolk. Every character has their own unique backstory, and their share of secrets, some sinister and others... embarrassing, to say the least. By getting to know the people of Galeport, you'll earn their friendship and they will begin to trust you enough to embark to the capital before the demons arrive. Where Dark Miasma really shines is in the heirloom system, and how it handles new games. From time to time, you will encounter strange artifacts which become inexplicably bound to you. These heirlooms will persist between runs, granting bonuses and insights into the world around you. As you gain more heirlooms, the true nature of the demonic attack will be slowly revealed. Perhaps, with enough time, you can unravel the mystery of Galeport, the demons, and the dark miasma.
