About
D3AD HAND now includes R3D STAR — a full new bonus and more challenging adventure featuring hours of new content!
Crack the code, feed the cat, save the world.

D3AD HAND is a darkly comedic point-and-click adventure set in a crumbling Cold War missile base deep in Siberia. You are Yuri Spraytyvich, freshly appointed Junior Strategic Missile Force Manager, tasked with holding together the decaying Čerëmuški Command Post.
But when PERIMETER—the Soviet automatic defense system—mistakenly initiates a nuclear launch, it’s up to Yuri (and your wits) to stop the end of the world. Navigate sabotage, radiation, worker strikes, and absurd bureaucracy in a race against doomsday.

R3D STAR: Uncover the fate of Sputnik and thwart the devious plans of Major Perestrova in your continued quest to prevent global annihilation.
◉ Unique alternative history setting and pixelart style.
◉ Tongue-in-cheek Humour.
◉ Elegant point 'n' click control of character.
◉ Ideal for newcomers to the genre, familiar and nostalgic for veterans.
◉ Different endings to discover.
◉ Play as Stalin in R3D STAR to help Yuri using your feline skills!

This game is so interactive and totally worth the price! even thought the real game only takes around an hour and a half (it took me like 2 hours) there's a free DLC inside the game that lets you continue playing, and the DLC is way longer. Not only was the game fun, the achievements made it feel like you really did something! I would totally recommend this game to anyone who has a low budget and is looking for a fun and interesting game to play. I really enjoyed playing!
Did first part (the "main game" or "prologue", depending how you see it) - not done R3D STAR yet. The game is pretty neat little point & click game. The D3AD HAND part should take around ~1½ hours depending on puzzles. Which game leans on. Your usual type of puzzles: rotate things, stuff appears or disappears, push buttons in right order.. that sort of things. Humor is mix of 4th wall breaking (as seen on steam screenshots), some references etc. Supposedly Red star goes really heavy on the puzzles and difficult ones at that. Endearing voice acting with heavy accent, nice little story at least on dead hand. Recommended Found this via youtuber C.a. Brown
I heard about this from the Space Quest Historian and it sounded like an interesting adventure game. And I'm glad I decided to check it out. It's more-or-less your standard point-and-click fare, but it's the humor that caught my attention. Set in Soviet Russia, you play as a dude in charge of making sure you don't start World War III. The first game, D3ad Hand, is really short and can be played in like an hour or so. It's a fun little romp, but the second game, R3d Star, is much longer and involved. It continues the story of Yuri as he works on finding out more about the falling star seen at the end of the first game. Both games are frankly fun to play and worth playing to the end. For the motherland!
I don't usually play point and click games but this is so good. Would recommend.
I first played D3AD HAND a few years ago when it was just the jam version and as I'd really enjoyed it then, I gladly bought a Steam copy and played it again. This version of the game has been expanded and is now fully voiced. While D3AD HAND itself is a short game which you can complete in under an hour, the included R3D STAR DLC is far more expansive and combined they basically form a single story that can take quite a few hours to play through, giving you great value for money. I find the pixel art quite charming with a bright and colourful palette. The story is a parody of Soviet Russia, and I enjoy its internal consistency. Getting to play as Stalin in R3D STAR allows for some interesting puzzle solutions as well as funny situations. The puzzles are nice and varied, and there's plenty of jokes and references and there's even 4 different endings and multiple ways to achieve them. If you enjoy point and click adventures with a nice challenge, you should definitely check out D3AD HAND and R3D STAR.
D3AD HAND is actually two point and click games in one package where you play Yuri the Junior Strategic Missile Force Manager and his cat (I mean superior officer) Stalin. The first one simply titled D3AD HAND is a short and easy 1h (including 100% achievements) game. It comes with voice acting and more minigames than inventory puzzles. The second game R3D HAND is the real treat of the package. It accounts for the rest of my playtime (almost 6h). You yet again play Yuri, but this time you can switch characters and also play Stalin the cat. Yuri handles the talking and item puzzles while Stalin does typical cat mischief like squeezing through small spaces, jumping on roofs and using his nose to track scents. Both characters have different hotspots so always remember to check every area with both active or you might get stuck easily. The two acts of the game are filled with inventory puzzles, many locations and map (act1) /elevator (act2) fast travel. In act 1 you can consult your base to get in-game hints, but sadly in act 2 there is no such option so there You are on your own in figuring out how to achieve all 4 possibile endings. To be honest it's bit unfortunate the better game is hidden as DLC for a short game which might contriubute to the relative obscurity of the full package. (profile features limited and <50 reviews) But the game is worth singing praises about it and I'm bumping Escape from 8-Bit High (the developers next game) to the top of my wishlist.
I've played D3AD HAND, including R3D STAR, which is a game within this game! This Cold War comedy adventure features charming graphics and surprisingly deep characters. D3AD HAND includes many mini-games that are fun and solvable, but R3D STAR stands out with its clever and challenging puzzles. I highly recommend these two games, especially if you love cats!
Just finished a first playthrough of D3AD HAND, have not started R3D STAR yet. I really appreciate the simplicity of the game but you get drawn into the world pretty quickly. The puzzles are simple enough to not be frustrating at any point yet each solution is always satisfying. The use of mini game like puzzles was a nice break as well. The humour is a good blend of tongue in cheek without being too much and the fourth wall breaking was a nice surprise as for some reason I didn't expect this. Great game, well worth picking up. I guess I now move onto R3D STAR!
I can't say how fun this game is! Such a great art style, game play makes you think OUTSIDE the box and work really had to suceed! Amazing work from the dev! Keep it up!
