Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Short review: I would describe this as if you got Dragon Ball Xenoverse and layered mechs on top. In missions stamina feels very much like Xenoverse and not a mech game. There is a base you walk around to choose story or coop op missions with a very heavy focus on making coop lobbies. Unlike Xenoverse or any mech game I have ever played, you cannot buy equipment with money earned from missions. You cannot buy a better rifle or sword with mission money. You can only find equipment in missions and everything I have read states that good equipment is only found in coop mission, which are terrible to solo. A few good points: Character customization is pretty nice I enjoy how fast paced the game is, even if the game speed is inconsistent The maps are nice and occasional environment description is great The graphics work well, but the color pallet and lighting is really nice. The music is awesome. A few specific negatives: There is not tutorial at all. If you have played Xenoverse and Armored Core you will probably pick it up quickly as those are the influences but if not prepare to stare at a firehose of names, stats, and constantly changing on screen numbers and slowly figure out what they are yourself. This is 99% a coop ARPG with an Armored Core like skin on top. Don't look for money management, resource management, detailed robotic/mech systems. This is very much an arcade style game, which is not necessary a bad thing. You can spend you money on biological "body enhancements". Almost all of these are just 5% better movement speed, 5% better melee range, etc. The only thing I found to spend mission money on was very dry and unexciting. There is no attempt at presenting anything that looks like a parts economy. I did not find the story to be engaging at all, and that is very common in every review I have seen. The story telling and voice acting is just very inconsistent.

pretty peak, but the gameplay can get dry and the customization is limited. if you want a high quality mech game, go play armored core 6. but for the poor man? this game is pretty great. 7/10 would recommend. PS. its on sale on CDkeys for $1.99
It ain't Armored Core 6, but it's Armored Core less than 6. I had fun.
This game is to Armored Core as Code Vein is to Dark Souls. It completely misses the point of the genre, lacks any kind of exciting spark and fills the void with shounen anime garbage. Repetitive, dull, annoying story segments that make little sense. Half baked mechanics combined with little explanation of what anything does inspires very little interest in trying to put together a good combination of parts. Want to know what a stat does? ♥♥♥♥ you, we're not telling you. Guess you dumb ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Maybe it does nothing because we forgot to implement it? The minimal variety in weapons and mech parts kills any interest in chasing new upgrades because they're not even upgrades most of the time. I shouldn't have wasted as much time on it as I did and despite getting it from Humble Bundle I still felt like I paid too much for it. Not even worth it on an ultra sale.
I come back to this game after playing games like armored core 6 and gundam games because I love the combat. its fast, its flexible, I love the ability to leave the mech and run around and repair it. I love the idea that the upgrade system doesn't just stop at putting different equipment on the mech but you can upgrade yourself and as you do so you are replacing parts of your body which I think is something that goes over a lot of players heads when they talk about how the story is told. I'm less happy that the player character doesn't talk or at least I would have preferred that they had a bit more expression when they interacted with the game characters which would better exhibit the distance you put between yourself and humanity the further your character progresses in the game but this concept is a little mute because you can always reset your upgrades for a price meaning you can change the way your character looks and interacts with your missions to play the game the way you want to play it but I do see this taking something from the game where it could push the player to committing to their decisions which would have made for a better story over all. Another thing I found very strange to the game was the ice cream shop which felt a bit forced to add a temporary perk the player could add to their character before a mission. You can run around the hanger and see weapons that you have collected while out in the field but the hanger does feel small and could have extended into allowing the player to roam the rest of the facility which would have been appreciated (kinda like godeater or code vain I suppose). Aside from those issues, there is fun boss battles that feel fun and challenging, being able to pick up weapons from downed enemies and toss your expended ones to be used as improvised weapons themselves is a great feature. the game also boasts a procedurally generated dungeon system which extends the post game completion enjoyment factor by a lot in my opinion. I wish there were more games like this as there are a lot of slow mech games but very few ones that make you feel like a fighter pilot moving at break neck speeds while dodging a multitude of missiles and lasers. some missions have different win conditions that offer different post mission outcomes which is a nice touch.
When I first started playing, it really gave the impression of a watered down Armored core. Then it throws all these flamboyant characters that look like bargain-bin anime characters on screen all at once but there is no connection that I feel with them; at least not initially. I was beginning to think that I would have uninstalled it after playing a bit. But I kept going. There was something or things that kept pulling me in. The shooting and flying just felt right, and even satisfying. And as I played on new mechanics were being taught. Things like getting out of your mech, grabbing mech parts and weapons from downed enemies on the field and equipping them instantly, and how the game nudged you into tactfully dealing with the enemy. It didn't end there. The more parts I got the more I got invested in the customization; while the amount of data on screen was daunting at first glance, a little playing around made things easy. We can customize mechs, customize our character, and the whole cycle of finding new blueprints or parts to develop stronger one was addicting. This alone would have been enough to see the game halfway through, and experiment with all sorts of weapons and builds. But somehow the story got interesting midway. Once you learn who is who, the cast actually becomes interesting, some likeable even. The voice acting for certain characters is real good, even the dialogue. Coupled with the vibrant visuals and heavy use of shadows it gave a very pleasing game to look at. To top it all off, the soundtrack was good and memorable (atleast a few tracks). Where did the game fall? Near the end where the story just collapsed and character motives went everywhere. I was really interested in seeing what was what and learning more about the lore. But the game does little in exposition and throws all this sophistry (courtesy of the villain). I love the different mercenary groups and how we serve the different consortiums, but there is no 'choice' to be made on who to side with. Infact your character has little impact on anything and is written in such a way that 'you are the chosen one, so things will go exactly as foretold'. It was all linear. I'm still glad I got this game. Since the sequel is announced and this game was on discount, and i had this wish to play every mech game out there, this was a good buy. This isn't armored core, but it is still good, and even exceeds armored core in certain elements. Definitely a game to try for mech fans.
I don't think I could recommend this game to anyone considering the price point it is at. For slightly more you could get Armored Core VI, which is by all means a superior product. The characters are pretty one-dimensional, and the visuals for them are even worse. I don't know if it's because the switch specifically renders stuff in a different way to PC, but the shadows and lighting are so gritty they take away from the very clearly anime artstyle the developers went for. When it comes to gameplay the tutorials on basic controls are minimal, but if you have played similar games before you pretty much know what to expect from the controls. The weapons pop up a lot of damage numbers, but with no other feedback you would be surprised you are doing more than slapping them with a wet sponge. While I only unlocked the first melee weapon, it's combat doesn't inspire hope in the rest of them, with it's attack pattern of lock onto enemy, press attack button, and do a dash to your target and do a single slash, repeat. You can't shoot weapons with your other hand and due to the straightforward nature of the attack, you will take wildly more damage than just strafing and shooting at enemies. The unique mechanic of this game, Mirage, summons a copy of your mech. While I would like to say good things about it conceptually, it lacks substance. The enemies aren't so strong that you can't dodge multiple shooting at you at the same time, and since it is a copy of your mech you can't expect to do any cool synergistic fighting. If it was something closer to customising a second mech that you call in, I could see it being cool, but as it is, it takes away from the uniqueness of your own mech, that you can make another of it show up for a while. As much as I'm trying to judge the game on it's merits, it is difficult to see it as anything other than what it is, a port for a game made for the nintendo switch.
10/10 game, story is nothing to talk about but if you want a mech game that isnt mechabreak and you cant buy armored core 6 because your poor like me, get this game on when it goes on sale
Slapping robots silly with broadswords the size of buses should be a guaranteed good time, but having to stomach a plot and dialogue that makes bad anime look like slightly less bad anime leaves DXM hard to recommend at best.
