Combine cards to tell your own story in a rich, Lovecraftian world of ambition, appetite and abomination. Corrupt your friends. Consume your enemies. There is never only one history.
Found a cult, dedicated to the Red Grail, or the Witch-and-Sister, or the Forge of Days. Recruit Believers and promote them to Disciples to serve as burglars, researchers, cat's-paws. Use your disciples to keep you fed - or feed on your disciples.
Unravel arcane, unacknowledged mysteries. Translate grimoires and glean their lore. Locate and pillage the Star Shattered Fane. Penetrate the realm of the Hours, and win a place in their service. Perhaps - if you are very cunning - you may even glimpse the Mansus.
Outwit rivals, investigators and the increasingly suspicious Authorities. Your own altered Appetites may force you to act abominably, but your Cause must not be stopped.
Transcend death with a story-driven legacy system. Perhaps your inheritors will complete the Rite of the Crucible Soul. Perhaps they'll find peace in a pleasing career. Perhaps they'll bring the Dawn.

Although the game will drop hints before you do an action... the majority of them will require something else to be successful. Do an expedition or Dream of an action... RECOMMENDED! PLAY AT FAST SPEED! Wait almost 30s-1 minute of real time and then the game will say "You need this aspect/lore to finish" And suddenly, you cant cancel that action and MUST wait 1 minute or more before you can try again. Do try to play with an A.I. search engine or better yet avoid this game.

Its a "simple" game where cards are verbs and nouns and events must be interacted with via them. But then there is an ever growing number of interactions and verbs and nows, and experimenting yields ever more until things are not simple at all, just founded on a beautiful and elegantly simple concept that grows in glorious complexity to something that either crushes you desperately wrest into a large number of possible victories. Any description of this game that doesn't go into endless detail will make it sound silly, but this is the deepest, most compelling, and intellectual simulator-game of studying the occult and build a cult that I have ever heard of or encountered. Every bit is lovingly crafted and wonderfully thought out.

"Merci, mais je passe mon tour" Voilà comment je résumerais mon expérience de ce jeu, Au début il ressemble à un de ces jeux où on doit explorer et comprendre les mécanismes du jeu pour l'apprécier. En plus la vibe "Appel de Cthulhu" me semblait très séduisante. Bon ben c'est fait, j'ai exploré et compris... Et c'est pas terrible... L'intérêt de la part "inconnu" du jeu (C'est quoi l'histoire ? A quoi sert cette action ? D'où vient cette ressource ? Comment l'obtenir ? Quelle est la "prochaine étape" ?) finit par disparaitre. Et le jeu apparait pour ce qu'il est. C'est un jeu de gestion de ressource mais où il n'y a pas de réelle liberté dans la façon de les gérer. Et au fur des parties l'ennui remplace le plaisir de la découverte. L'action "Travaille" qu'il faut systématiquement relancer manuellement. Les évènements handicapants qui surviennent toute les 60 secondes qui finissent par vous soûler. Les langues à réapprendre, les livres à re-étudier. Au bout d'un moment la sourie et le clavier vous tombent des mains. Bref regardez une vidéo sur le "lore" de Cultist Simulator en jouant à un "bon" jeu de gestion et vous passerez un meilleur moment.
