Crowe: The Drowned Armory

The video and screenshots are impressive and I love magical story-driven action/adventure games. So although I read about the game being (very) short for the price they're asking, I still couldn't resist. Here are my thoughts: PRO - I love the mysterious and magical story and the overall cinematic feel of the game - The bow and shield look and feel really awesome! - fantastic voice-acting, sounds and perfect music - excellent game mechanics CON - it's curently way too expensive for the content. The DEV team is talking about episodes, but it's unclear whether they will be added for free (and when they will be added). This game is not EA so more clarity about upcoming content (content that continues the story) would be welcome. The game is short and, at one point, it's even artifically extended by a long wave of similar enemies - a potentially very beautiful environment IF I wouldn't be seeing blurry, jaggy graphics. There's no supersampling option in the game-menu(?!) and using supersampling from the Advanced Settings add-on in SteamVR didn't change anything. I would say the default setting now is something like low or medium, while I wanted to play on high or epic. Bummer :( This can be quite easily fixed if the DEV team would allow for an in-game SS option. I've seen this so many tims with UE4 games : when there's no in-game SS, the game is way too blurry, especially for GTX 1070 and 1080 owners who are used to upscaling their games significantly. - gameplay is a mixture of simple but logical (and magical) puzzles (wheel turning to bounce light beams) and shooting with a bow. No free movement, only teleport to fix points. - the in-game menu looks like it's thrown into the game afterwards and rather quickly. It looks sloppy and ugly and there's little to nothing that can be changed or customized CONCLUSIONS - if your budget is limited, don't buy it - if you have a problem with stationary/wave-shooting type of games, don't buy it - if you don't like short games, don't buy it BUT - if you can spare 11 EUR and you love short but magical story-driven games with sweet graphics (after they add supersampling), you might like it.... Bottomline : I can't recommended in the current state, for the price they're asking now.... @DEV-team : please add another episode or lower the price to approx. 5 EUR and add supersampling or high/epic graphics!

First, I like the idea of this game and I love the little AI that buzzes around with all her atitude. But as it stands I cannot reccommend this game to any of my friends. It is incredibly short (took less than 15 minutes to beat if you take out the forced intro and the two, laughably easy "puzzles" you have to sit through). Second, the graphics are blurry and look nowhere near as sharp or clear as the screenshots used to promote the game. A $5 entry would have made this a less bitter pill to swallow. I couldn't imagine paying the full $19.99 when I can buy a multitude of other VR games that look better and have hours of replayability.

Fun bow mechanic and a really cool mythology/world - excited for the next installment

This game is really great and I personally liked and I think that you will like it too. This game actually wins with its great realistic graphics, which makes it outstanding. The gameplay is great too, making the game even better. I highly recomend this game. If you are fan of fast-paced games with cool graphics, you will definitelly love it.

Crowe: The Drowned Armory is a fantasy VR shooter. It has two game play modes and a section where you can view the environments statically. The Story mode is extremely short. I finished it twice in the video, the first time it took 30 minutes and the second time 18 minutes. It seems like more of an introduction to the other mode. Despite this it is visually stunning and the game play it does offer is fantastic, that's why I played it twice. From what I can tell this was the only mode it had upon release plus it was a lot dearer so people were not very happy but it now has the survival mode which offers a lot more game play and replay ability. Survival has three different setting and each one has a higher difficulty. I played easy in the video and managed to complete it. It had 30 levels and I managed to finish them in about 35 minutes. This may sound quick but it was pretty intense game play. You are in a vast arena with floating platforms and waves of enemies come at you. They shoot not only you but also the platforms you are on, if the platform gets destroyed before you transfer to another you will die and it's game over. I loved it and think they have finally provided a game that is not only great fun to play but is extremely cheap for the quality of the product. It currently retails for only $9 on Steam. You would be hard pushed to find a game with this production quality for this cheap not to mention the great game play So in summary, it may have started life over priced with very little content but it is now a great game on both counts and I recommend you check it out as soon as you can. ~The Good~ If you are looking for a great looking and feeling archery survival wave shooter this games new aurvival mode is great. Tghe story mode feels like a disneyworld VR exhibition with the cute AI fairy companion/commentary, fantastical beasts and awesome post-steamworld feel. A genuine hats off to the developers for nailing a great the mechanics and world in a way that puts this in my demo reel to show the vive off with. ~The Poop~ Now since this is a steam Indie, its time for the bad news. The story mode isn't just short, but jarringly cuts off just when you think the games about to really take off. Seriously feels like I just went on a great date, invited the girl up for coffee and just when getting to second base your roomate kicks the door in to ask how awesome it would be to pilot a steampunk gundam to fight dragons. I feel like unless the devs are secretly building a full game sequel or intending to expand the story that this is going to be one of those games that you reference as a "Could have been one of the greats" with your gamer friends for a long time. ~Price/Value~ Looks like the game originally released for $15, then had a price drop to $8.99 and I bought it on a sale at $4.94. With the added survival mode its a solid buy at $5 but thats as high as there is value considering the variety of wave shooters and archery games out there already with a lot more meat. Considering the price drop, I doubt that we are getting to third base at any time in the future :-/

Komentarz + translator. Comment + translator. Chyba grałem w tą grę najdłużej ze wszystkich... Co dostajemy? Dwa tryby, opowieść i arena. Opowieść to 20-30 minut gry: puzle, "filmik", puzle, trochę strzelania, "filmik", a na deser ogromny niedosyt. Opowieść to w zasadzie fajne tech demo, fajny mały dodatek do areny. Szkoda, tryb opowieści to zmarnowany potencjał. Arena to trzy poziomy, z mocno rosnącym stopniem trudności. "Skaczemy" oznaczając je łukiem, na nieruchome platformy, których musimy bronić, przed atakującymi je i nas dronami. Jeden poziom areny składa się z 30 mniejszych, co 10 duży dron. Dronów jest wiele rodzajów, różnie się bronią i atakują, drony wraz ze wzrostem trudności mają większe możliwości. My mamy łuk i tarcze, używane zamiennie, łuk ma dwa fajne tryby, tarcza potrafi odbijać niektóre pociski. Nie ma możliwości swobodnego poruszania się po mapie, tylko platformy, lub w opowieści 3 wyznaczone miejsca. Grafika obleci, w 2017 to był szał, ale dzisiaj już nie, i jest taka jakby rozmyta. Grę zabiła zbyt wysoka cena (85zł) za zawartość, na starcie (arenę dodali później). Szybko spadła do 40 zł, ale zdążyła już nazbierać negatywnych komentarzy. I zbyt wysokie wymagania sprzętowe (chyba po czasie obniżyli grafikę). Niektóre trofea wydają się być uszkodzone. Moja subiektywna ocena to 5/10 (za arenę) i to trochę naciągane. Kosztuje 18 zł, w tej cenie chyba kupiłbym ją drugi raz. I think I played this game the longest of all ... What do we get? Two modes, a story and an arena. The story is 20-30 minutes of play: puzzles, "movie", puzzles, a little shooting, "movie", and for dessert a huge understatement. The story is basically a cool tech demo, a cool little addition to the arena. Too bad story mode is a wasted potential. The arena is three levels, with a very increasing degree of difficulty. "We jump" by marking them with a bow, on stationary platforms, which we must defend, against attacking them and us drones. One arena level consists of 30 smaller, every 10 large drone. Drones are many types, different weapons and attack, drones with increasing difficulty have greater capabilities. We have a bow and shields, used interchangeably, the bow has two cool modes, the shield can bounce some projectiles. It is not possible to move freely on the map, only platforms, or in the story 3 designated places. The graphics will fly, in 2017 it was a frenzy, but today it is no longer, and it is as if it was a deed. The game killed too high price (20 usd?) for content, at the start (arena added later). It quickly dropped to 10 usd(?), but has already managed to collect negative comments. And too high hardware requirements (probably after a while they lowered the graphics). Some trophies seem to be damaged. My subjective rating is 5/10 (per arena) and it's a bit stretchy. It costs 4 usd(?), at this price I think I would buy it a second time. Polecam. Recommend.
