LAZY PORT!!! 👎👎👎 NEED STEAM DECK SUPPORT!!! Being a shmup game, what's the point to not optimise on as many handheld devices as possible? By the time the latest update in March 2022, Steam Deck has already released. Simply lazy and not care about Steam players.

For information: the negative reviews are because the game is overpriced compared to the amount of content - which is 100% true - but apart from that this remake is VERY GOOD! If you can get it at a discount go for it!

Extremely fun shmup with an EXTREMELY cute protagonist, the arrange mode is a blast with tons of scoring potential and the X6800 mode is very faithful to the original. There's also other characters you can choose from once you beat the game as Cotton. The only negative thing I'll say about the game is that the visual clarity can be nuts a lot, other than that it's a fantastic revival of Cotton's series. 【手軽に遊べるレトロシューティング】 リメイク版のアレンジモードが遊びやすい。 操作感もいいので初心者でも大丈夫だろう。 稼ぎ要素もあるので、スコアを狙うと面白い。 ただし、エフェクトが派手なぶん、 慣れないと敵弾が非常に見えづらいという欠点も。 コンティニューしまくってもいいので、 とりあえず１周クリアすれば自機が３種類解放される。 メニューの一番下にマニュアルがあるのは親切だ。 ちょっとした暇つぶしにはちょうどいいゲームだと思う。

If you remembered and enjoyed Cotton on the TG-16 or Saturn, this is a definite pick up. A legendary cute-em-up shooter series. The PC port is sufficient as the graphics are clean and the game play is tight.

すごい爽快で楽しいシューティング！ゲームパッド F310(XBoxモード) でプレイ。 ３０分くらいでアレンジモードをクリアすると、新キャラを使えるようになりました。 （キャラはオプションメニューで変えられます） 短時間でさくっと楽しめるファンタジーシューティングゲームとして良作です。 （他に昔のモードや２分・５分限定なども選べます） ちょっと音が全体的に大きいので、設定のSOUNDのページをRB、LBで選んで、音量３つを１００から５０にしてやるとちょうどよかったです。 チュートリアルも、丁寧にかかれていて、紙芝居をみるように、セリフをききながら操作方法やクリスタルにとりあえずぶつければいいことなどが学べます。 ストーリーもコミカルだし、雰囲気は中世ファンタジーな感じで、魔法もバシバシだせる やられたときのしゃべりも笑える 難点を言えば、次に使う魔法がどれかがわかりづらいから、効果や範囲が予想とはずれることもあること。 でも、ボスのHPをごりごり減らせるので、魔法たまったらとりあえず撃ちまくればいいかも。 ほんと雰囲気がいいゲーム 短時間でさくっと、気が向いた時にプレイするのにおすすめ STG下手でも楽しめました。 難しさを求める人は、ノーコンティニューを目指すと良いと思います。

This game crashes within seconds, when running this game. I can't give a good review to a game I can't play. This is ridiculous I'm on a Windows 11 PC more powerful than PS5 Pro, this game shouldn't crash. Beep fix the game, and I'll give a better review. If they don't get back to me I'm asking for a refund. I received an email from Beep, I sent a bunch of info, and they looked at my crash report, They took along time, and gave me another code which I can't activate, because Steam gives me a message that I already own the game. I had to reinstall the latest x64 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, and use the the DLL from the Proton Fix on my Windows 11 PC. That's for Steam Deck, but so far it's working

Pura nostalgia, é muito legal para relembrar. Não encontrei o mapeamento de teclado e apesar de funcionar, eu aconselho você a ter um joystick. O jogo é bem curto e rápido para completar, algo normal para os jogos antigos e que também se aplica para os refeitos, mas isso não lhe tira a qualidade. É bem caro, pegue em uma promoção.

The Cotton series is often placed as one of the most iconic shoot em' up series as part of the sub-genre of cute 'em ups, but I've not really found a game in the series that I found elevated itself above the standard fair of shooters of its era. And the Cotton Reboot is not much different. I like the tale of whimsy between stages, but that and the music is pretty much where my enjoyment of Cotton ends. I find the actual game rather unimpressive and almost counter intuitive given the greedy protagonist. Most of the my deaths are from getting greedy at collecting the power ups. The power ups not even being particularly necessary beyond speeding up game play. However, as much as I want to hold the mostly unnecessary bloat of the power up system against Cotton, it was pretty standard for the time. Just like the overly memorization based game play of peer shmups of the era. Yet, while many of the 1990s STGs are some of my favorites in the genre, Cotton just doesn't have anything to grab my interest. The cute 'em up genre is a negative for me. But even disregarding that, the actual mechanics don't thrill me. As for the port itself of Cotton Reboot, it is serviceable. If bare bones. Certainly not worth full asking price of $45 not on sale at the time of my review. There are literally a hundred shmups of both higher quality and less price. And because of the base price, what would be a pretty neutral review, and thus a recommend, becomes a not recommend. Because in no world is this game worth more than $20.
